Web sQuad ISP - Feedback Thread #2

Thanks for reaching out- we’re definitely still seeing the same on the backhaul. Our team is working to set up a call with Evotel. As I said before, the levels weren’t great, but certainly not the cause of your current issue.
any update on this?
also my line went down for a bit and came back to slower speeds so i'm assuming i'm on some backup link that doesnt have enough capacity.

Edit: 20:04 line went down

Edit2: 20:29 line back up

My line is just flapping now

It’s looking like they’ve done more damage than good on your line with all their troubleshooting. Team will be in touch today

No changes from our side yet- please download winmtr or pingplotter and trace to one of those IPs starting with 34 if the issue re-starts.

I will do.

Did meet some Cape guys playing from Cape Town. Their latency much lower.

They said the go through Taroco data centre. They did a petition in 2016 for a server in SA.

@websquadza I’m currently with Atomic Access and I’m very happy with their service. Since I’m moving to Hartenbos in a few months, I won’t be able to use them anymore because they don’t operate in the Mossel Bay area. Could you tell me about the latency to Europe with WebSquad fibre? I work remotely for a company based in the Netherlands, and Atomic currently offers me 140–150 ms latency to the Netherlands. What can WebSquad offer?

you can also checkout their looking glass and enter some IPs as reference

I'm getting between 169 and 180 from PTA so from your side of the world you should get similar results to atomic

I live in Cape Town at the moment, and I usually get something in the 140 / 150 ms latency range to the Netherlands with Atomic Access. I hope WebSquad can offer something similar.

Yeah Pretoria adds about 22-25ms so subtracting that from my 169 should give you 140

Is there something happening at the moment? I'm getting frequent disconnects while gaming on EU servers even after having restarted routers, etc.

I'm not seeing anything on my MTR.

Location is in Plumstead, Cape Town.

A friend and I were jamming some Total War II Rome and he I know is subbed to old Websquad and we were having jitters (he was hosting on his Metrofiber line) so something must be up.

And from Hartenbos (Mossel Bay area)?
oooh im not sure how much more it would add - @websquadza please chime in here
@henkthehunter happy to assist.

So EU from CPT (depending where you're testing to, +- 140-150ms. Tested a server in the Netherlands now (86.54.28.212) and getting 144ms from CPT. Then testing to an endpoint of ours in Hartenbos now, I'm seeing about 7ms over Frogfoot's network between CPT and Hartenbos. So you're looking at a marginal increase in latency (when the direct Mossel Bay to CPT route is working).

Any server IPs I can test to? not seeing anything specific on the network, so more likely path / provider / peer related.
