Hi All, just so everyone knows , We do not do our own capping on the I.S based accounts. Internet Solutions do their own capping profiles.

Surely this means that if 'webafrica' accounts have a relaxed capping system it means that all other ISPs using IS will have that same benefit?

Local Accounts

Did I miss something, but was it not gazetted that local WAS NOT supposed to count towards cap ? How is it that it still is ?

///MOH, Openweb.. But i have friends on Webafrica and all of em have so far got capped at +-40gigs.

My 10gig local got capped at 16gigs...was 25 last month

But cos this time i used over 2 gigs everyday....last month only did 500megs a day til end of the month...

Think maybe they monitor ur usage stat and decide if u're a heavy user or not then decide capping u or not....
Would be nice if theres an IS rep here to explain their capping..like telkom's sir bonobo

Just got capped on 33GB :(

How long till they re-enable my account? :p (usin WA)

Laterz

The ultimate question. :p

I bet it has something to do with purchasing more bandwidth. :D
Perhaps wajason would care to enlighten us on what he knows about the situation?

i got capped at 35gigs, bought another account and was back up and running after 2 minutes :D
i think i'll use the 2 accounts concurrently next month to squeeze more out of them...

Yeah you missed something, it said that ISP's weren't supposed to cap local bandwidth, it didn't say that ISP's couldn't charge you for local bandwidth. So... it is basically a useless cause, cause then local bandwidth was never really capped.

And yeah, ICASA doesn't have a back bone!

Uncapped local is our Future!!!! Just a pitty you pay per gig :>>

Capped and cut off at 11.5GB on a 10GB local only WA account...... I'm not very impressed. WTF is going on!?

What is it with all these posts. You are getting what you paid for in the first place, if you get more you don't get charged for it!

There are some ISP's that charge you for overages or subtract it from the next month should they not cap you on time. Lucky for us IS is a bit more generous and don't do this. I'm pretty sure that you've gotten more than you paid for plenty of times, doesn't mean you automatically get a right to get more than you paid for every time!

Just be happy that you got it for a while and stop complaining about them not handing out free bandwidth that's costing them money!
