How amatuer can an ISP be, that you have to give a calendar months notice to cancel your account with them
I cancelled at the beginning of June, and only to find out that they are so incompetent that they cannot find anyone to cancel the account in time!

I will NEVER EVER EVER use them again! they can SMB before i even think about it.

Did you have a proper read through the T&C?

They clearly state the calendar months notice. If you cancelled in June, whether it was the 1st or the 21st, you're stuck with them until 31 July. Like it or not.

Never mind, in 5 weeks it will all be over

Yeah, but now i have to stick with the Funts for another month of pathetic internet!! would rather slit my wrists.

T's&C's are pathetic, nobody reads them!

Before any business or even home users sign ANY contracts they should thoroughly read and understand the terms and conditions of their contracts,Financial 101. The power to prevent this issue rested squarely with you

Maybe the "pathectic" T&C's are there for a reason and should be read.

Just a thought, use it, don't use it.

But use it.

If you send a cancellation at the beginning of June (ie before the 2nd or 3rd) I see no reason for them to only cancel it end of July. That's just them trying to make a last quick buck from their customers. Openweb allows me to cancel my account up until the 3rd of a month so that it will expire at the end of the same month.

If you cancel on the 1st of the month, it should definitely expire at the end of the same month. Cancelling on the 1st and being stuck with it for another 60 days is a bit greedy of WA.

They're basically the EA games of the ISP industry. :p

Besides, didn't WA always have a policy that you could cancel for the end of the month any time before the 20th of that month? Why did they remove that? Did they see they can canoodle some more money from people with ****tier cancellation terms?

I think most ISPs have this?

On another note, i never get anything but exceptional service from WebAfrica with maximum speeds at any time of the day.

Same. It baffles me how some people complain about WA's bad service and internet when I've never had any issues with them, ever. And I've had an account with them for years.

Am I the only one who does not know what SMB means?

Server Message Block? Suck My Black?

Very interesting. They'll probably find a new ISP will perform the same because the problem lies with Telkom or other...

Thanks for all your support guys!

They have kindly agreed to cancel at the end of June, and if i get debited they will credit me.
Seen as though i was originally told at the beginning of the month that it would be cancelled at the end of June.

So, based on your logic and experience, no-one should have any problems with WA :erm:

Even the best businesses will have some problems and the worst will have some success
