WebAfrica Capped ADSL

Ugh, seems DNS still an issue?
Large chunks of the the internet have been intermittently unavailable for the last few days for me. Is WA looking at this?

Apologies for the inconvenience caused. Our engineers are looking into this issue at the moment. In the interim, please configure your network settings and use the Google Public DNS settings : 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 until this matter is resolved.

Out of interest, what is WA DNS server's IP's? Is it the normal IS server 168.210.2.2?

I am not too sure really. I used the ISP assigned addresses until the issues, then I put Google's DNS servers into my adapter and it has been great ever since :)

Phew.. Thought this issue was just affecting me :p

Any estimate on when we should see this resolved? This week? The new year?

It should tell you somewhere in your router stats, anyway, not to worry, as you were :)

Our engineers are doing their utmost best to fix this issue at the moment. I'll revert back as soon as this issue has been resolved.

I can get you your answer in a few months when the routers' owner returns from sea next year :p

Sorry I can't be of any help :)

House sitting? Enjoy, don't wreck the place ;)

No it is at my place, but the account is under a flatmate's account who is at sea at the moment and I don't have access to it.

But I have the Wifi password so I am happy, tis all I need :p

This issue is now resolved. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

You know you can also set the dns on your pc right? You don't need access to the router.

Only one I know is ipconfig, but that just shows the router.

Just go to network settings, change adapters settings, properties, ipv4, and you can set your dns there. No need to touch the router at all.

I'm not talking about setting it, I'm talking about seeing what it is currently.

EDIT: This started out me asking what WA DNS servers are and if they the same as IS of 168.210.2.2?

What the actual **** is going on with WA the last couple of nights? Getting 38kbps on a 2mb line, where my Telkom account is maxing out the line? Can't even stream youtube on 240p

Change your DNS to:
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4

WA is pathetic the last 9 days, each night between 12 and 6 my torrents are 1mb-1.33mb/s the same torrents on my AF account 4.2 constantly.

( But guess I can't really complain since it's only R39

Probably everyone making use of the free D+.

Do you let your stuff go through the night though? I'm sure it gets better in the early hours of the morning.

It does, it gets to 4mb between 3:30 and 6. So it's probably due to everyone R a p i n g the fee D.

I just want to break that 2TB barrier... I have always had that dream.
