Webafrica PPPoE issues

FILs router had smoke come out a couple of days ago (long story...) and I've been roped in to restore his internet access. I pulled an old openwrt router from my cupboard, set it to PPPoE and entered his username and password but it won't connect.

I took the same router to my place, used my credentials and it connected straight away. We're both on Openserve, although he's on WA and I'm on Telkom.

Needless to say WA support is non existent.

Any ideas why it's not connecting and, not importantly, how to get his line back up?
 
What area are you in? Theres currently a massive outage happening and WebAfrica isnt even mentioning anything on their socials. We've been off since 11 last night. I'm in Bluedowns and checking the WebAfrica outage map it shows everywhere within a 20km radius is offline.

What does the log say?
 
WA, Mweb no ways I'd waste my time with.
