So I find myself AGAIN (3rd time) now having to contact Webafrica because my 100/100mbps fibre line is being capped at 50mbps.

When I complain they say they'll reset their system and i must disconnect my router and it will fix the problem. Which it does - temporarily.
This is now the 3rd time I am back on 50/50 but paying for 100/100.

Anyone else having this problem? I really want to cancel with them because their service is nothing short of useless.

I feel your pain... My problem with WA is not exactly the same as yours... I have a 100/100 account, but speeds are nowhere near 100Mbps between 6PM and 11PM at night - to local content, less than 50Mbps and international, less than 20Mbps.

They've used the 'backhaul to JHB is saturated' excuse - with a supposed upgrade that didn't improve things.

But, I have to agree, their support is terrible. After going through the usual ping / traceroute / speedtest troubleshooting script, they have just been ignoring my ticket, closing it every few days - maybe hoping that I'll just go away.

Yep, WebAfrica are well known to just close tickets without resolving them. Pretty terrible support all round. I've cancelled my service with them due to lack of support and that the performance of my line is unusable during peak hours for gaming.

so they told me its fixed.

I'm now getting 25-30Mbps all day lol

Useless bunch.

Also leaving them, line drops speed all the time and no one at home when you try and call them just some guys telling jokes.

I know WA from ADSL days, stay away as far as possible. They LOVE to throttle and shape for no obvious reasons and when quering them it's always your line, never there system.

I am experiencing that exact issue! Speeds are no where near to 100mbps down. noticed this since Thursday. Where are you located if I may ask? I have been told that it might be congestion at my exchange.

I will say though, I've been with WA for years. Used to have issues but then I changed over to a 10Mb Business Account about two years ago. Never had a single problem again (apart from paying my nuts off of course).

Trying to get my new fibre installation sorted out now for more than a week, to no avail, actually considering just letting it go and sticking with my WA Adsl, at least it always works.

Me too, I am done with webafrica. Not paying for a 100mb line when i get 3mbps between 7 and 11pm. Does anybody know how difficult it is to switch to Cool Ideas?

If you are on Openserve its quite simple,

Request cancellation with Webafrica, ask them to release the line and then inform Cool ideas who will then take over the line.

Make sure the fibre order has actually been logged with Openserve. Had the same issue at Vox only to find out 2 weeks later that agent never booked my fibre with openserve. Once booked, openserve installed the fibre within two days.
