Hey guys,

I wonder if one of you can point me in the right direction. What would be the right price to pay a professional web developer and graphic designer to do the following:

1. Develop a website for a DJ. Website should contain some flash (Joomla?) and be a few of pages, i.e Home, About DJ, Gigs, Contact, etc, etc

2. Develop a landing page with logo and 4 picture links. Basically one website for 4 companies (websites exist already, just need the landing page).

3. Develop a website for a project management company, roughly 4 pages, no flash required here, just logo, and normal website.

I'm looking for a ballpark figure. If you could break the cost down for me so I can see what is cookin', that'd be great.

Thanks in advance guys.

1. Shouldnt be more than R3000.

2. Is he developing the logo's ? You supplying the landing page text ? If the logo and text is supplied I'd say around R700 per page ?

3. Shouldnt be more than R3000.

In total not more than R10k.

Hey Bondizzo,

Thanks for the response. I'm not supplying any logos, does that make it more?

Kinda, I'm not sure how much ppl charge for logo's locally, I'd assume R500 + ? Hows his portfolio ? I still think R10k is very fair, ppl working for a company 9-5 would do that kind of work in 2-3 days and get paid like R400-800 per day.

I normally get logo's done from Indian's overseas for appx $10-$25, but you get your standard freelancing issues e.g. Quality/Delivery Time, you pay only when you are happy but some ppl waste your time.

Ok thank you. I'm asking because I have my website guy, I asked him to quote for the above work and the poor kid won't give me a price, he keeps saying I should pay whatever I want.

To be honest, I would not use him.... From my experience, and I developed websites for many years, this guy will not have the neccessary experience you require.

I do agree with Bondizzo in that you are most prob looking to pay around 10k.

Also, check out www.templatemonster.com - from there you can buy an already designed website for around $65. Then all you need to do is come customisation. It removes the bulk of the work and you can choose the design you want. They have multiple different DJ based templates.
