Hi,

I've been all over www.telkomsa.net, but I cannot find any reference to whether or not Telkom provide webspace of 10MB or so. Do they offer any type of web space at all?

you dont want to use there webspace ... unless upgraded it is dodgy ...

but you can call them and get it activated ...

running a web server on ADSL is prehaps a better idea [besides the cap]

Does it cost anything extra to activate it?

I've been hosting my own web-site on a privately hosted machine for years, but I keep large files like (legal) MP3 files on my webspace at IAfrica where they have lots of bandwith. I then just link to the large files from my own web page.

Since getting ADSL I am discontinuing my IAfrica account, and as such I need a new place to put my big files :)

It's sad to see my IAfrica account go - I've had it for 10 years now.

Their webspace does exist.

It's a unix machine and trying to do more than straight HTML is going to give you a serious headache.

Access to more "features" (CGI/...) will cost you more than they could be possiby worth.
Linking in a decent Domain Name is quite cheap.
Updates to your site can only be done via FTP.

But - if youre requirement is verrrry simple - its ok.

The more you know - the worse it gets.
