Our hosting company disapeared. Webspacebar is offline since October 5, 2025.
8 October and still no word from Webspacebar.
They don,t answer their phones. No emails. No whatsup. Nothing.
All our websites are gone.
How can we get backups of websites?

Good morning everyone,

First and foremost, we want to extend our sincere apologies for the recent downtime and lack of communication. We completely understand the frustration and concern this situation has caused.

To clarify, we have been reachable via WhatsApp, and we’re doing our best to assist everyone as quickly as possible.

Our hosting infrastructure runs on Proxmox with network-attached storage, and unfortunately, the underlying storage array suffered a severe performance failure earlier this week. This directly impacted all hosted services including our own website and has caused extreme delays across the environment.

The good news is that new hardware has already been brought online, and we are currently in the process of:
  • Restoring accounts from JetBackup
  • Synchronizing mail data using rsync (which is very slow due to the storage degradation)
  • Verifying data integrity before bringing sites back online

We are working around the clock to bring everyone’s services back as safely and quickly as possible.

If your website or email is still offline, please send us a private message here or contact us via WhatsApp with:
  • Your domain name(s)
  • The email address linked to your hosting account

This will allow us to prioritize your restore and keep you updated individually.

We deeply appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding during this time. The situation is being treated with the utmost urgency and care.

Warm regards,
The WebSpaceBar Team

Performance failure? Did you lose a drive in the array?

Also would like to know when they will be back online.

Client in Aus desperately need email access.

Good morning,

We sincerely apologise for the downtime. While we wait for the datacenter to assist us with a major storage issue, we’ve begun bulk restores via JetBackup onto the new NVMe infrastructure. Once restored, we’ll rsync all new emails from the old environment to ensure everyone’s mailboxes stay up to date.

We truly appreciate your patience during this time. We’re currently receiving over 400 WhatsApp messages an hour and may not be able to reply to each one immediately, but please know we’re fully committed to bringing every service, including our own website, back online as quickly as possible.

Thank you for standing by us through these deep waters. Your support and understanding mean the world to us, and we’ll continue working tirelessly until everything is fully restored. ❤️

If this is true 1. Why are your whatsapp accounts no longer active 2. Your social media profiles deleted 3. Your website removed...
Why dont you respond to emails sent by each client rather than this whatsapp bs that we all know is no longer working

Move your domains as soon as possible... eveyone else will and this company will sink...it probably has already. why remove all whatsapp, social media etc etc if this isnt the case? They are bs us. Go file a report against them like eveyone else. Get a new ISP and transfer your domains

RAID 0, twice the sleepless nights, twice the failure.
Especially if NVMe is in the mix.

Had more than one drive go into fail with the NVMe board reporting everything is good:

Me: "Hey. Are you OK? Health state says cool but seeing weird commit issues."
NVMe: "100% all good here. No issues!".
Me: "OK. How about you just store this file for me?"
NVMe: "(*^!*@%(()!&#(*^*$"
Me: "Wait. That's bad. Are you sure you're all good? "
NVMe: "100% all good here. No issues! File was written".
Me: "OK. GIve me the file"
NVMe: "#$%#$%&$%^*#&#"

Get to the DC and find the sod is swollen to twice its size and hot enough to melt platinum. But still "100% good".

Good times. Goood times.

Great drives, stupid speeds but, when they go, they pop in the weirdest ways.

Good afternoon Jaybee. Our website was on the same storage. And I suspect you might be using an old whatsapp number. The whatsapp button on our website (which is online now) will take you to our number. (We have hundreds of whatsapps every hour so there is a delay in response)

Dear Valued Customer,

We would like to extend our sincerest apologies for the ongoing downtime that began on Saturday. We understand how important your online presence is, and we deeply regret the disruption this has caused.

After thorough investigation, the data center has identified the root cause of the issue affecting storage performance. To stabilize the environment, they have added cache drives to significantly improve read and write speeds while they begin attaching external storage arrays to migrate data off the affected network storage.

These volumes are extremely large, so while we would love to complete the migration immediately, the process of safely copying and validating this data will take some time. The cache drives, however, have already begun to provide immediate performance improvements, and we expect to see progressively faster recovery over the coming days as the migration continues.

We want you to know how grateful we are for your patience, kindness, and understanding throughout this difficult period. We are working closely with the data center team, who have been tremendously supportive in helping us restore services as quickly as possible.

We genuinely wish this could be over already, and our top priority remains getting you back online and operational. Further updates will be shared as soon as new milestones are reached or performance improvements are observed.

Thank you for standing by us through this challenging time, your loyalty means the world to us.

Warm regards,

The WebSpaceBar Team

“Dedicated to restoring your service with care and urgency.”

so what's the number we should use? Share here or pm me. So far nobody here has been successful reaching you. I've tried the one we used only a few weeks ago. What happened to your facebook account?

Hi Jaybee,

Please reach out to us on our WhatsApp chat number: +27 68 616 4676.

Let me assure you that we aren’t “fly-by-night.” We’ve been hosting websites since 2011 because we truly love what we do and care deeply about our customers. I’m the owner of WebSpaceBar, and I want to be transparent with you, I haven’t slept since Saturday. Knowing our customers are offline keeps me awake.

I didn’t build this business from nothing just to go down without a fight over this storage failure. People are saying a lot of hurtful things about us and our team, but they don’t know who we are or how much we’ve poured into this company.

I’m not just a business owner, I’m a father, a husband, and a geek who loves helping people. Yes, I’m angry about the storage outage too. But giving up isn’t an option. I’ve never stolen a cent from anyone. Those who have worked with us before know that we’ve often helped people at 2 AM with WordPress plugin issues, domain renewals, upgrades, etc.

This past week has been a nightmare, but we didn’t take it lying down. New hardware has already been purchased, and restores began immediately. We expected to have everyone back online much sooner, but the old storage is painfully slow, transferring even a single gigabyte takes hours.

So here I am, say what you will, I’ll take it. I’m human. I care. And I’ll keep fighting for every customer because that’s who I am and what WebSpaceBar stands for.
