Hi Keeper, you can get the same type of deals that CellC offers ( actually a few bucks cheaper) on the Vodacom Network !
Once off : R995 gets you 2Gb per month every month for 12 months
or...Once off :R1995 gets you 5Gb per month every month for 12 months
Top ups R0.60/Mb ( more expensive than CellC but I suspect that not to many users actually use the top up. I may be wrong here? )
And, you can have it activated on a current Voadacom sim or get a new "data only" sim.
Does this look a little better?

try this --- www.webstorm.co.za should be up on the site by the 28 Jan 2011. Or call them for info, they ( or rather, we ) have just launched this.
 
Your math is great. however your comment is not quite as clear.
If the offer discussed in the last few posts here is considered:
then
CellC: R1999 once off, which = R166.58 for 5GIGS = R33.32 for 1GIG = R0.0325 for 1meg. and
Vodacom ( via the ISP offering it ) is: R1995 once off, which = R166.25 for 5GIGS = R33.25 for 1GIG = R0.0325 for 1meg.

Now how does "it's glaringly evident that ANY data bundle from MTN or Voda is a rip-off compared to CellC! " work?
I am sure you will be delighted to see the Vodacom deal and I really hope you see your way clear to reconsider your stance.
It must however remain a bit of a pain to admit that the CellC top ups are cheaper that the R0.60/Mb on the Vodacom offer. But hey, not to many people actually use the top up features ? So, it's a positive step in the right direction then ? Oh yes, and the coverage !!!???

Looks good. Will have to look at the T&Cs.

Suggestions:
1. Make a provision for customers who want to pay by EFT or credit card.
2. Get realistic rates on the top up bundles - they are RIDICULOUS. I will rather buy from Cell C!

Amateurish mistake, or what? Do they sell the package and then do a runner the following month?

And why would Vodacom allow a competing ISP on their network undercutting them. Was Gogga not a cautionary tale?

pity vodacom themselves aren't launching this.
 
This DOESN'T make any sense...

how could someone buy FROM Vodacom, Re-Sell it at a Profit, while still only ending up at 25% the price of......Vodacom?

That would be like me buying lambo's, and reselling them at 1/4th the price of what Lamborghini is charging, while still making myself a profit. Yep, i'm lost.


1. Buy 3G Data.
2. Sell it at 25% the price.
3. ....
4. Profit.
 
That just proves that Vodacom could lower their prices a lot and still make a profit, but they chose not to. They will milk the consumer for as long as they can. Who wants to get off the gravy train once they're on..( Sounds like the ANC )
 
Well, it doesn't mention anything about a modem being included hence you can't compare it to the Cell C prepaid promo offers...
