Hi guys, need some expert advise. First time grower here From what I can gather online, these are ready for harvest ? Most of the pistols are brown. Should I leave the buds that still have some white? Any tips appreciated. Sorry for the crappy pics - best I could do.

I don't know bud. Looks great though. Maybe the more experienced growers can give some feedback.

That is not pollen, basic biology 101. Females do not produce pollen, males do. Those are trichomes.

Any reason why you have practically no soil in the big pot?

Ye, been keeping an eye on them with a magnifying glass, google says they are good to harvest, think I'll do that tonight. There are bud further down the plant that still have some white pistols. Would it be better to leave these and just harvest the top for now? Thanks

When to harvest varies a lot according to strain and in most cases it just comes down to experience but your best bet would be to get your hands on a jewelers loupe and check out the trichomes, I like to harvest with mostly cloudy some amber ( amber trichomes for couch lock high, cloudy/clear for head high ).

Pistils going brown and yellowing leaves are also a good sign it's ready.

Its not pollen you are seeing. Those are crystals(trichomes), the stuff you want, makes you high.

Not quite ready yet in my opinion, but you need to buy a jewelers loupe to have a look at the colour of the trichomes.

Kantsnyer summed it up... I prefer to wait for a 10-20% amber trichome proportion to milky/clear.

Apparently the THC levels are at their highest Just before turning cloudy, and once turning amber, THC starts breaking down into diff compounds. However this generally leads to heavier highs, rather than 'lighter' highs from clear/cloudy trichomes. Find a good mix, but let it get too amber.. thats couch lock 101.

Yes, I ran out of soil. They have repotted and both are growing at a rapid rate
