Weed growers thread

Yeah got a few seed connections from the Expo. Also for all the required equipment. really looking forward to it. Its actually given me a better understanding of how plants grow, which i've carried to other plants in my garden, fruit trees etc.

Hi Guy and Gals

New whorticulturalist here. I just want to check that my babies are doing good and growing at an okay rate. They almost a month on, getting roughly 9hrs direct sun a day, try for longer but not always someone home to move them around.

Thanks

I'm not an outdoor grower, but isn't it a bit late in the season now for such a small plant? I have an outdoor plant that I've been half-arsing along with my primary indoor grow and that outdoor plant is already beginning to flower naturally even with full exposure to the sun all day :notworthy:
I started late, first try at this using some bag seed, want to do trial run. Outdoor only option right now as no space to setup an inside grow. For all I know they could all be males

Yeah, I use Grower Helper to track my watering, feeding and growth. It also allows me to take pic's straight in the app. I have not yet figured out where on my phone those files are stored so was quicker and easier to take the screenshots. Capture+_2019-02-14-17-18-42.png

Anyone here from Cape Town doing an outdoor grow? Mine is not going so well, almost half of my plants have turned into hermes, the other half all have wind damage. FML. Latest plant to get the chop. 20190212_132959.jpg

Are you using EHG nutrients by any chance? Cool looking app, never thought of looking for something like that I still write everything down.

Yes, using EHG, proud to be supporting a local brand.I find the app very usefull, suck at writing things down and half the time can't read my own hand writing. I have 4 plants in 20lt Hempy Buckets with Coco and 3 in Coco/Perlite (70/30).

Wind damage, stressed the plant...hence it turning herm. The wind, grrrrrr.....was the reason I took my plants out of the ground and into pots...more accurately, 20L paint buckets...They were not happy with the wind we were getting. My lot are about to start flowering,

Yeah the names made me wonder, I'm also using them this year for the first time, very good price. Will try the app on my next grow, in flowering now for the next couple of months.

Mine was the reverse, got lots of wind damage while in 20lt containers, plants that were in the ground almost no damage but the plants were also twice as big. Planted them all in the ground about two weeks ago, two thirds are flowering but still some either in veg or early flower. I'm thinking later this year a greenhouse plastic approach may be best.

Off topic but does anyone know of a duckfoot mutation, one of my plants this year definitely have the genes.

I am also having a wind problem, going to look at putting up a screen or making a Macgyver with some Perspex.

Hey All if you are looking for high CBD seeds you can check out: https://marijuanasa.co.za/product/kali-mist-auto-cbd/

Hi there AndrewCF, I'm a second time grower and was wondering what this cbd thc seeds are all about?

THC and CBD are determined/acquired when harvesting is done with any plant/seed.

Your magnifying glass tells you when to harvest for ether CBD or THC.

I have made a liter of coconut infused oil with 50grams of flower, harvested during the CBD stage.

My wife's arthritis in her finger joins disappear when using a teaspoon of this in the morning.

I gave two of these trees away to people in need of Coconut infused medication(cbd)

I have not harvested any of these big trees yet. Can not wait to see the yield per tree.

I grew smaller trees and prefer them as the big one's need more space(I had to remove the shade-cloth covering).

So, what have I found is the easiest and cheapest way to start experimental growing?

Find a homeless person sitting alongside the street and offer him R40 or so, for a matchbox of seeds and agree to meet him there in a week.

Go home with your seeds and place a few seeds in a saucer with paper-toweling or tissue paper. Place the seeds between the paper and water the paper. Place saucer in the window-sill. Keep watching the seeds for germination and carefully remove the seedling if it has grown about one inch/25 millimeters and transfer the seedling to a 20 liter paint-pot that is filled with good compost that is mixed with 1/3 of garden soil.

Be sure to make/drill quite a few holes in the paint pot at the bottom to ensure proper drainage of excess water as roots rot if no holes.

Place pot/s in 50/50 sunlight/shade in garden.

If plants are about 100mm high , water with tablespoon 4:1:1 nitrogen per 5litre water, once every two weeks.

As soon as you see the plants making pistles/flower, change to tablespoon Super phosphate per 5litre water, once a week.

Purchase a bag of 4:1:1 nitrogen and a bag of super-phosphate at any hardware store.

How much "normal" watering(plain tap water)? ........> As soon as you see the drooping of leaves or heads, water.

If you smoke, harvest when the magnifying class shows 80% milk colored "mushrooms".(rich in THC)

If you produce medicine, harvest when magnifying class(can purchase @ (greenfingers.co.za), shows 80% brown colored "mushrooms".(rich in CBD)

When harvesting try not to handle sticky chemicals on leaves/branches.

Hang the branches you've cut, in a spare room or store/garage for two weeks until branches are brittle.

When processing, use a (half-moon) knife/meat cleaver to cut branches/twigs on glass, so you can scrape chemicals off the glass. Be sure to remove thick branches(1mm or more).

To make coconut-infused cannabis/oil:

Take a 160mmx90mm pot , place 50gram cuttings/flower and one liter of the more expensive coconut-oil in pot.

To be continued.........
