So I take it there's nothing wrong with mixing and eating a couple weevils in with whatever drink or food you happy to be enjoying right?

Got a near-full 2.5kg pack of sugar that I really don't feel like throwing away..
It's just protein right, or is there more to the little buggers than that?

use google...

first search gives various sites that says similar:

Many people actually eat them with their food. While not being directly dangerous to humans, depending on what they eat they can damage food and spread E. Coli.

It's the last words that you need to worry about. So go use google on that. PS do eat lunch while reading about that.

Try sieving them out? Or better yet, chuck. I'm sure 2.5kg of sugar is cheaper than a doctors visit. Also invest in an airtight jar or container for your sugar

We also got the little buggers in our flour and pasta.

So we put wax candles in the flour and the pasta in the freezer.

I didn't know weevels have a sweet tooth.
Found them in rice, breakfast bars, oats, but never sugar!

Ah crap yeah... E. coli and weevil toilet duty , think I'll try the freezer trick and if that doesn't work then the bin it is..
I'll double check if they're weevils, not what else they could be though, little creepy crawly things in the flour and sugar all look the same..

see if you can get them seperated from the sugar.

they should go quite well fried with a bit of bacon and some celery.

Take it back to the store you bought it from. The missus did that and they gave her some goodies to make up for it. This was at PnP, though.

Been seeing this a lot lately with items purchased from PnP, basically since they moved to centralised distribution. The wife tends to freak out, get very upset and toss the items out.

Found it in rice, basmati rice, pasta an pronutro purchased from PnP.

After finding the buggers the first time my wife started keeping everything in seperate tupperware containers. The scary part now is opening one of the containers and seeing the little buggers lying dead on the inside. If you then check the packets you can actually see the holes they made to get out.

Probably a bit late for that..

Uum.. ok :wtf:

If they are in your sugar (and have been for awhile), good chance they are in everything. Best to do a clean out, invest in some tupperware and start fresh.

That's one of the reasons I prefer brown sugar and also rice that are in packets you can see through. No fun surprises.

Then everything in containers.

The last time I saw a weevil I was in grade 1. First and last time.
