I am loving the fact that my pants are starting to fall off. Once I get to 110 kg I need to go buy more pants. 5 More months before some clothes shopping

Luckily I had some old-but-not-worn clothes stored away or I'd be seriously out of pocket having to buy new clothes, heh. It's an awesome feeling of accomplishment when your clothes fall off :)

The delivery date seems to be towards the end of March. :(

that's the solution to the one in the book. I think the tsp is a misprint in the book and it should be tblsp. I used the book recipe but followed the video that copa linked to and I used a tablespoon of baking powder and mine came out great

just a quick update on this.

I baked another one last night and checked the video again which also says a teaspoon of baking powder, I used a tablespoon again and no stevia and the bloody thing nearly climbs out of the pan, it does condense again after cooling down but it has a consistency more like a firm sponge cake than a dense loaf, I quite like it

Yeah - waiting for stock from reprint I imagine. I can wait for it :)

Sweet stuff OMB! Thanks for the feedback. Will be doing this :)

Thanks, was actually going to ask you since I watched the video again last night and it also says a teaspoon. Will make some later and use a tablespoon.

So when I usually make a sauce I do the butter and flour combo with milk. Then add cheese, mushrooms or pepper.

Is there an alternative for the flour or is the 1 or 2 tablespoons of flour going to have a very negative effect?

Use cream and reduce it. Alternatively look into xanthan gum.

I see people use pea or almond flour for all kinds of things but I wouldn't know how well it substitutes wheat flour.
I'm too lazy for that **** :D

Guys and gals.

A quick question here on coconut oil.

Was just browsing and I saw a large (in my opinion) price diff in odourless and normal coconut oil.

Example - 1Lt odourless R99. 1Lt normal R169. Also R30 difference on the 400ml tubs. Checked nutritional value and no difference other than a couple of mg of saturated fat content.

Any reason why the odourless would be cheaper? If anything I'd have thought it would be the other way around.

Interesting question.

From the Crede site:

Virgin coconut oil is cold-pressed from fresh coconuts and retains a coconut smell and flavour. Odourless coconut oil is cold-pressed from copra (dried coconut meat) and is then organically processed with steam and bleaching clay to remove impurities and remove the coconut smell and flavour. The fatty acid composition of the two coconut oils is almost identical, but the virgin coconut oil may retain certain micronutrients that are no longer in the odourless coconut oil.

I'm guessing the bolded bit has something to do with it maybe?

Thanks Copa. I'd have thought that special processing technique would ramp up the cost...oh well. Will try both and see which I prefer (in terms of taste since nutritional value is same)

The normal one is way more tasty and to me seems a little more oily
