Weight Loss Thread 2014

what's your first impulse when you lose something?

Cry, look for it, cry, can't find it - replace it, cling to it and never let it out of my sight :p

Colin62, I did whole30 and it worked really well (except that December tempted me too damn much). I'm trying to stick to a primal lifestyle now. A lot of these things are about reducing carbs and increasing healthy fat intake and differ here and there, so I think you can just pick one that makes sense to you. I tried reading Real Meal Revolution but didn't like the pictures or the font and then went back to reading fantasy :p People need different things for their diets to work but personally, if I need to make chocolate mousse from avo or use special flour in my baking, I'd rather leave it out completely. It will take a bit of time to find what works for you and you'll go crazy if you listen to all the advice people give you so just pick something and start experimenting.

Oh, and reading the weights you guys are and are aiming for is a little intimidating - it seems you're a skinny bunch...

Im not so sure about that!
I bench press 155kg's so wouldnt really say skinny.

LCHF isnt really a dabbling kind of diet though, if you go high fats and still eat carbs you could balloon. The best way is to throw yourself at it and enjoy the benefits.

too lazy to cut and paste the link, but if it is what I think it is it's been posted before

I came across this thread today, which is a happy coincidence, as I have decided that I need to lose weight and change my lifestyle to get back at least some energy and interest in life.

I haven't bothered reading the whole thread, just skimmed the last few pages, and it seems everyone is on the LCHF type of eating plan. I was under the impression that that plan is not to be followed universally, but will only suit certain people. Are there some who frequent the thread who are using different strategies? Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem if the focus is purely LCHF, as that is what I believe will work for me, and that is what I am trying. I just need to decide whether I will just not replace any carbs in my cupboard or whether I will throw them all out and get going overnight.

The other one was a straight Banting but this is a user article by the looks if it.

It's the same ''registered dietitians'' are idiots article, just with bad formatting this time...

There's a cheese making kit on one day only today... Looks like it could be fun :)

Made cauli wraps for the first time last night, love them. Next step is to try them out as a pizza base.
