Weight Loss Thread 2014

Decided to make an extra effort on meal choices, gotten very static and boring lately and when it gets boring you tend to start feeling cheaty, heh. Had some 'potato' cakes (cauliflower) last night with eggs, steak and pumpkin fritters. So good, so satisfying :)

That sounds awesome, how about a recipe? :D

Not much of a recipe, winged it but -

Grate and boil the cauliflower
Drain and add butter and cream cheese and some almond flour
Overnight in the fridge
Make patties and fry in butter

Cubed pumpkin
Oven baked with salt and pepper and herbs
Mash it with some butter
Overnight in the fridge
Make patties and fry in butter (I added a teeny bit of xylitol to the butter)

Make steak and eggs and nomnom :D

Bah, static weight over last week. I did cheat a little this past weekend though so it's probably related.

I also think I'm reaching the limits of weight loss eating the way I do. I probably eat Fat/Protein/Carb at around 65/30/5. Need to crank that up a little I reckon, as I don't really do enough exercise to justify all that protein. In the end it comes down to my wife not being able to cope with the super-high-fat dishes, so I find myself compromising and including more protein.

I read somewhere that mayonnaise is OK?

Would that be any mayonnaise?

I might be wrong but I think it should be home made. The stuff you buy has a lot of other extra goodies in. Some are even egg-free...

If you're gonna have mayo, get the one most close to home made. I have one (will get back to you on brand) that I use now and then in a salad and it's only like 3g carbs per 100g. Or make your own.

Wow...was meant to post each few weeks my weight loss. Well that went well...

Ok...so I started the HFLC eating plan in Jan. I was just shy of 90kg's, and am 1.78m tall. I am currently sitting on 78kgs...havent felt this great in years. I'm not strictly on HFLC, still have some "bad" carbs here and there like bread, rice sometimes...so currently not losing weight...just maintaining. I would like to lose an extra 2kg's...so will be giving that a bash over the next month and start banting properly again.

But yeah...being on this eating plan...I really cant go back to the way I used to eat. From the bloatedness and general unwell feeling...no thanks.

One thing I am concerned about, is I have noticed a handful of people on a HFLC diet - their cholesterol goes down for a while, then goes back up somehow. Not sure why, so am getting blood test done tomorrow just to make sure I am in the clear.
