Cool post.
Rant: It really bothers me that all these great nutrition-focused docs are running about focusing on their own super cheesy personal brands. Personally, I distrust any website that has a guy in a well-lit photograph beaming at me, with "Doctor Professor Ozmando" strewn across the site header, along with large flashing ads for his own books. Yet, these days, this is exactly the sort of site where I'm finding what I feel are sensible thoughts on nutrition and dietary trends. The disparity between the content I'm reading and the trust-signals on the site I'm reading it on becomes overwhelming.
Wouldn't it be great if they'd band together, put aside their book & brand peddling interests, and create a more trustworthy and recognizable alliance/platform of nutrition advocacy. I find that most of these guys already share a lot of the same core values with regard to what is wrong with the food industry, policy, and current diets; and where we should be heading instead. For all the talk of the evils of food industry interests, there's an alarming focus on selling books and other online content.
