Weight loss

Thats why I added vast - you may be a part of the minority that could sustain a large change to your diet.

I don't think milk is (or should be) a large part of your diet. It's not natural IMHO.

I think people who are generalizing as a part of their diet are extremists, altering your beliefs to this extent is not sustainable, at least for the vast majority of the population. I happily generalize my beliefs with some personal bias, additionally if I am really craving something discriminatory, I might have an old-fashioned witch-hunt.

Nice try, but didn't quite work

When I was researching intermittent fasting there were people who said that it doesn't work because you'd overeat at your next meal, but you've described what happens quite aptly :)

How on earth is what I did over-eating and what measurement are you using to determine this? For me? You're really going to have to stretch your imagination to come up with some justifications for this...

I have no idea what you're talking about. Googoo's comment made me think of the negativity surrounding IF.

I think D3nz was refuting the over-eating theory and supporting googoo's tummy shrinking theory. That's how I read it anyways :D

Helps jump-start the ketosis process...

I decided this isn't for me, so hopefully it works for you.

Out of interest its been a week or so since:
Starting Weight: 90.6kg

Have you made any weight loss progress with your new lifestyle change?

I don't enjoy the high fat content and the lack of fruit and veg, so going back to what worked ok for me, but very interested in the science behind ketosis.

Read the quote I posted before my reply ;)

You misquoted, or at least misunderstood my meaning - I wasn't referencing only milk, but rather the extreme micro managing of diets and excluding large quantities of items (milk being 1)

I am singling no one out - just making a statement

I also feel the ultra low carb diet is not for me and am making progress without it.

Please note I am NOT saying its wrong, just that I believe that due to its restrictive nature is hard to maintain - and leading new people to something so difficult to hold up may result in eventual failure.

Oh, well her comment was directed at me, hence the implication.

But intermittent fasting won't work if you eat the wrong crap afterwards and do it in isolation. If you're fasting intermittently but munching carbs, you're gonna have a bad time. I have seen a lot of comments from morons on the internet who cry foul of these scientifically proven principles on the basis that she fasted for 2 days then munched 8 double Macribs, a tub of ice-cream, chips and a bag of atheist babies and didn't lose any weight at all. Shocker...

Haven't weighed myself and not going to do so now after eating food and drinking 3 litres of water so far today. I have lost fat - I can see it. I'll weigh myself tomorrow morning...

I think people who are taking out milk as a part of their diet are extremists, altering your diet to this extent is not sustainable, at least for the vast majority of the population. I happily drink my coffee/tea with some milk, additionally if I am really craving something sweet, I might have a teaspoon of sugar in my drink.

The same (again in my opinion) goes for ULC and ANYTHING else that alters the way you eat WAY out of the norm

The problem with this mind set is that you WILL bounce back at some point in which case you will yo-yo and fail, this failure will be associated with your diet and you will be less likely to try again

I don't see the sense of restricting yourself into misery

Lol, it's totally sustainable for me. I don't think I could ever start drinking coffee again with milk! Cream for me!

I don't think I was misquoting?
