Weight loss

The brilliant minds were funded by companies pushing their own agendas. The research was swayed by this.
So no professional ethics then from these admired members of modern society? I mean if we can't trust some of the most learned members of society responsible for some life and death decisions?

Not from many, and those that do get vilified.
Don't you think such integrity failures and lack of consensus within the medical fraternity will lead to rising self-diagnosis/treatment and natural remedies?

From what I have read is that you only need some carbs/energy drinks if you are training longer than 90 minutes.

No idea, I have no idea how people think. But, take all the drugs resistant strains of bacteria coming to the fore now... direct result of docs prescribing antibiotics for every little thing. The medical fraternity is after all human and fallible. And they only know what they were taught in many cases.

Paleo and keto diets are taking off, once people see the results they'll change if they really want to.

Also, doctors don't really do the research themselves, they're used to research pointing to fat=bad, carbs=good. And if you think about it, it makes sense - fat in will make you fat. I'm sure the medical community will start changing soon.

No not even then. You can run on ketones for as long as you have them available

Besides if low carb diets decrease obesity then you are dodging so many diseases associated with obesity.

I think they recommended a handful of raisins. Also they might have been talking about marathons :o I can't remember. A year or two ago I was always looking at the kilojoule content of food and when I started low carbing I was surprised about how many carbs/sugar are in everyday foods  Now I look for protein and fat and don't bother with the kilojoule content because I eat until I am satisfied (this rule does not apply when drinking) :p

Yup carbs are pervasive in modern food. High fructose corn syrup... it's Satan incarnate.

Diets are bad and low-[Insert X] and [Insert Y]-free diets are bad news. You need a balanced diet with a wide variety of different foods and a healthy lifestyle including plenty of exercise to be healthy.

Please explain from an evolutionary standpoint considering availability of food in the winter months?

and this is backed up by what scientific evidence exactly?

With Google you can find many scientific papers stating that just about any diet can be good for you. People used to be slimmer and healthier long before these crazy diet fads became popular simply because they were eating balanced, healthier diets and less processed crap while getting out and exercising more.

The sooner people realise that a random article they just Googled which reinforces an opionion they hold dear means nothing these days.

I think you should take your own advice and do some proper research, so that you can come from an informed perspective and not broad sweeping generalisations based on assumption linked to the underlying prevalent concensus on nutrition which is based on bad science

SCIENCE IS VERY NICE BUT LISTEN TO YOUR OWN ******* BODY

which is all fine and well when your body is functioning optimally, however, if you've stuffed it up by overloading it with sugar and carbs then it's going to give you a real bad message
