Weight

Yes it is possible, but have you got the willpower ?

It will mean eating lots of salads, fruit, veggies, giving up most alcohol, margarine and fullcream milk, very little cheese, no white bread, no chicken skin, no fried chips or chops.

Less sugar in your tea and coffee, more water or if not water then pepsi max or light.

Additionally you will have to be more active, take stairs instead of lifts, put on some favourite dancing music and dance for at least 30 minutes at a time.

To start with:
Eat very little for 3 days in a row, this forces your appetite and stomach to adapt, then resume with smaller healthier meals and lots of activity.

Good luck, follow your own diet out of the food you normally have around, just cut out the greasy choices and eat less of the fatty/sugar stuff and eat less than normally.

Oh and do eat breakfast and try to have protein for breakfast:
- protein is compact food
- it helps regulate your mood
- it prevents sugar highs/lows

This is my personal tips and is not based on any diet or nutrionally correct system, but it works.

...and yet another bit of advice will state you must never do this but rather eat lots of little meals. The reason for this is if you eat too little your body slips into "survival" mode and will then stockpile whatever fat you do consume....

my boss's (spelling) wife went on a diet and i was amazed at her weight loss and i think it had something to do with drinking loads of water and eating very little. that is the kind of diet i would use because i could see the results but my will to do it is weak.

It is an interesting idea however and only for 3 days(and no, I wouldn't do it:)). It would force your body into its "store everything I eat mode" but would also cause your stomach to "shrink" and would allow your body to feel more comfortable with the initial smaller meals. Well, I guess thats what the theory would be anyways.

LancelotSA, it's unlikely to happen within 3 days, but your info is correct for longerterm ;)
but I have to repeat, this method works for me personally and each individual should aspire to do it the best way for them and I base this diet on a simple formula:

I eat 1500 calories per day - I do activities that use 2000 calories or more.

So if you cheat and eat a chocolate, don't throw in the towel, simply expend the extra calories through energy use within 24 hours.

I wanna loose weight before my birthday. I wanna look good. I wanna start looking good all the time Thanks for your help and your tips. I really do appreciate it. Chat a bit later as i got church just now

When you are short even a small amount of weight lost/gained can make quite a big difference...in her case Im sure 10kg will be a huge difference:)

It is quite possible to achieve what you want.

Cut out all sugar, get to gym, or walk, cycle, swim, do some circuit weight training as well. At least 3 times a week, preferably 5. With exercising it help quite a bit to do your cardio first thing in the morning.

You need to eat approximate 1500 - 1800 calories of food a day, assuming you are exercising, this will be great for weight loss. Make breakfast your largest meal, and supper your smallest. Every third day or so eat 2000 calories worth of food (helps to prevent you from going into starvation mode.

Everyone has advice about diet, the best advice is to monitor what you eat, count the calories, and keep a journal of it. Some people do well with lots of fruit, others not so much. Some people can eat carbs and still lose weight, for some it just doesn't work.

Measure your progress every week, at the same time, and track what you did. You will know if you gave enough effort at gym, you will know if you ate something you should not have, or too much.

In 8 weeks, you can lose 4kg, or 8kg, quite easily, and keep the weight off, the real question, as stated earlier, is are you committed enough to find the right method for you and to stick to it, every day for the next 8 weeks?

Hey guys and girls. I have my birthday coming up in 8 weeks time. I would love to loose about 5kgs to 10ks in 8 weeks. Is that truly possible without being unhealthy and not eating.

Easy. I would start with a 7 day juice diet/detox and after that a healthy diet with aerobic training. Running, swimming, cycling, skipping rope, tae bo.

I am 75KGS and I am 5ft2
Why do you quote your weight in the international standard unit of measurement (kilograms) and then quote your height in feet and not in meters?

Only americans are still using feet/pounds AFAIK. I know 5ft2 sounds impressively tall, but no. Don't try and confuse people who went to school learning millimeters/centimeters/meters/kilometers/grams/kilograms/milligrams etc

I'm quite older than you, and I would like to visit the school that taught you feet, and bring them straight into the 19th century South Africa schooling system

Sorry if this sounded nasty. Just a pet peeve I have since girls seem to think quoting their height in feet and not knowing how tall they are in meters can somehow convince a short guy to go out with a huge assed b....er....woman.
