Weird ADSL issues

i read that thread, maybe we're talking about diff routers (this one has no usb port), also did you consider that you had a faulty one? I had to reset mine and it did go back to factory settings.

I'm not defending this thing :) Just wanna make sure its worth my while going to exchange it ;)

do you know that i work for telkom? i work with this crap every day. they are all f***ed beyond repair
ha ha ha ha.... neva knew there were ppl on here who didnt know

so what does the name on it say? even the colour would help

if you work with them and say its **** ill gladly take ur advice - theres a telkom direct at FW crossing, will they have stock and do i just walk in there and sat i wanna exchange or do i have to give some 'problem' story?

sounds like you have the marconi Wi-Fi.
thats not really a bad router. pretty eay to use too.
i would keep the router then ( till it blows ) but if you do want to swap it say something like "i called telkom and they told me to swap it" and add a " I cant port forward and the lady that sold it to me said it can do it"

they wont question you then :)
 
It is the marconi. my bad - i thought that is what u guys meant by the "combo".

i found it pretty easy to use too - even the port forwarding.

only thing that bothers me is 11b, and the fact that it is ugly.

so what do u reckon - do i change it for the billion (if its better) or just go with it?
 
I would stay stick with it. but its your router so do what u want.
Marconi routers break easily that’s the down side ( but u can replace it )
Billion routers are more robust.

haha murphys law - router dropped comms to 1mbps, couldnt do anything on the web...had to reset it to get it gingagain.
 
i swapped the router, got the 5102g (i was under the impression id get the 7300g). Set up, going fine, not that i see any diff between it and the marconi (at least it looks better). Also quite easy to use, oh and i flashed it to new FW to get rid of the telkom branding.

Well... when you hardware reset the default username and password no longer work :D

and I'm on unit #5 for the day, each one the same, hardware reset and no more access :D

This is fun :D Wonder how many I will have to return before I get one that resets to "factory" default :)
