No election is 100% fair. But this time around many left angry and frustrated.

These are just some of the complaints I have personally heard;

Some experienced massive waiting times in queues, and many left due to long waiting times. People were guided towards the wrong queues. Systems were offline. No pens at voting booths. Allegedly an IEC official stuffed marked ballots in a box. People complained about IEC workers not being able to operate the electronic (tablet) system. The ink officials had difficult time handling the paint brush and ended up giving a full manicure. Officials / Volunteers were not very friendly and some say there were not enough.

Do you believe the IEC can still be trusted with a credible and fair election?

Other - fair in a sense of choice, but certainly not fair in a sense that queues were ridiculously long in my area and we had to vote in the bush full of glass, ants and dongas like a bunch of animals.
 
In JHB where I voted, everything was smooth. The people were capable and handled themselves well. Technology was not an issue, the tablet system was operational and quick (even though the suns rays were quite bright).

Voting took 2 mins (1 min to unroll that large voting paper lol).

I saw nothing wrong or dodgy.
 
The elections was free and fair.

Voting was fast for me as well.... But that is because almost no one was there.
 
Surely this a question for the appointed election auditors? Who were they this time round? PwC?

Yes the elections was 100% a fair
 
In our ward things seemed to run smoothly with few if any issues. The electoral officials were friendly and accomodating and knew the processes. Cannot comment on other wards, but from some of the details on various platforms, there may be some real cause for concern.
 
0 problems on my side
Voting took less than a minute since I live in the smallest ward in town
 
I rocked up at 5pm to vote, stood for 2.5 hours thanks to the slow speed of the scanner. It literally took them 5 minutes to get it working when it was my turn, scanned my ID three times and then the scanner would freeze. The IEC official gave a heartfelt apology for the long wait.

Left at 7.30 and the line was longer than the one I had joined at 5pm. My brother didn't bother to go when I told him he'll be there at least 3 hours. Quite a few left the queue once they saw the extent of it too, which isn't a good thing. It was a frustrating experience but I'm just glad I didn't go any later and that I managed to get my vote done. So fair in that sense I guess, just poor logistics.
