Do traffic fines from Cape Town need to be sent via registered mail?
Drove there earlier in the year beginning of February with another person's car and that person got a final notice via normal post last week.
The amount was tiny (R200) and it was another person's car, so I paid it via FNB online banking yesterday morning.
Thing that gets me is that the final notice arrived after the final day of settlement and that I am worried that the owner of the car will possibly receive a summons now.
I went through the relevant legislation referenced in my traffic fine (Act 93 of 1996 and Nat. Road Traffic Regulations of 2000) and neither of the two make reference to registered mail.
