What am I getting charged here for?

I see my latest statement indicates they're charging me for the phone line and "DSL faster".

I know Telkom recently split their line rental and ADSL products, but what is "DSL faster"?



Am I right in saying that the telephone line is the analogue line, the home uncapped is the data, and the DSL faster is the ADSL line?

Your Telephone line is the base Analogue rental. DSL Faster is the 4Mbps adsl line rental and Home uncap adv is the uncapped account.

It is charged individually but you get a discount further down the invoice because you have the bundle. If you had a calling plan it will be added to that list and be a small amount.

Yep...

4Mbps uncapped was advertised as R589 or something like that - can't quite remember, so I upgraded from a 2Mbps line. They clearly didn't advertise the analogue line on the brochure.

Doesn't matter. Very happy with the service.

edit: how else are you going to get ADSL without an Analogue line.

I had the Telkom Weekender package since I signed up with Telkom 3 years back, which I cancelled last month. Obviously the weekender package included the analogue line - hence the change in the statement. That's what confused me.
