I poked my head out the window and saw this on top of my neighbours roof wondering what kind of antenna it is, I'm seeing them more and more often these days
It’s a log periodic antenna: a wide band directional antenna. Should be good for 3G because it could cover all frequencies from 900 to 2100 which you need because in my chase I were receiving an excellent 8ta signal on 900 MHz then they decided to change to 2100 on which my whip antenna does not do very well. I then replaced it with a different whip cut to 5 X 1/4 wave length and now I am back in the -70DBm range. With that baby you will have the 1800-1700 MHz bands covered as well, if they decide to utilize them.
