what anti-virus do you use?

I'd reccomend Nortons Anti-Virus 2003, 2004

It is by far the best Anti-Virus Software out there

Hy and by way for all those gamers out there (not including kilps and all apple Mac users) you should turn off the Anti-Virus software when playings games.

It realy LAGSSSS if you don't.
 
Use Norton 2005 atm. Never had any problems with it and it doesn't slow down my system. Just a quick note about people saying that <inser virus package name here> detected some virus that Norton didn't detect - you people do know what a false positive is right?

Don't know about online gaming, but I think it would be better to add folders used by your game to your a/v s/w's exclusion list to prevent real-time scanning of just those folders.

DarkSkies & anyone else that hasn't tried CA's eTrust EZ Armor:

If you think the software you use now is the best (except if that happens to be F-Secure), I seriously recommend that you trial EZ Armor (when your existing software's license is up for renewal). If you take into account all the extra features built-into the firewall component (eTrust EZ Firewall, not the lite version) you get a very good product at a reasonable price. F-Secure Internet Security (FSIS) 2004 does not have all the extras, although FSIS2005 is available and it might include similar stuff that EZ Armor does, but FSIS is expensive and in my experience has a habit of hanging-up the machine when it can't scan something. Try it, if there is something better at around the same price I would really like to know.

yes, and we also know when it is not a false positive.
 
hey MINI ITCH just cheak if its not your pc that slows down the sims 2, i have the sims 2 and the first time i played it it took 10 min to get into the game and i dont have any anti virus, i got a new drive and it nw works nicly and much faster!
 
i use 2003 norton no point in getting 2005 and 2004 its the same thing just afew more pointless upgrades to make you pay more money when there are ripping us off!
 
hacker sends curry email, curry opens email, curry's PC is now the hacker's b*tch & sends all curry's private data back to hacker, hacker uses curry's pc to distribute trojans to other hapless victims.

If you got FSIS2005, let me know what anti-malware features it has that FSIS2004 never had any of (considering eval of FSIS2005 & renewing my license next year, but need a reason to do so).
 
Nortom Antivirus 2004 ( I had) but it firstly messed up my machine and NIS is a system hogger - no doubts about that.

That's why I chose AVG 6.0 - Free and easy.

Running around, catching a cheetah (without a gun) is like resistance against Telkom - futile.

give avast a try, it seems to rock, use's very little resources and seems to work very well. www.avast.co.za - free home package.
 
I started out initially with AVG (5, at the time, and I beta tested 6), then moved across to Avast. Avast is IMO more user-friendly and easier on the resources. 5 thumbs for Avast then, although AVG also does the job...
