Escan antivirus

I use Escan ISS anti-virus from an ISP called Eject.
Two versions available :
Escan VC at R 22.80 per month or R 251 per year
Escan ISS at R 34.20 pm or R 377 per year

Seems to just work and do it's job. Updates in background as soon as internet link available.
There is also free utility called MWAV which scans PC for virus/trojans

Well i have been using F-secure for a number of years and have recently got myself the latest package from Finland its rock solid.

I rate Nod32 as one of the best around. We use it here where I work.

For my personal pc tho' I use AntiVir 6. It's free and definitely does the job. Not a resource hog either.

I agree with other posts about all round security. I run Kerio Personal Firewall(free) and Microsofts Anti spyware beta. It's amazing how many things try to sneak onto your pc when you're online.

I'va also tried Zonealarm and Sygat personal firewalls, these seem to work nicely too. (and of course they're all free )

But havent had any problems with it... All boils down to being careful - dont allow any app to execute on your pc that you dont know where it comes from, and get rid of IE/Outlook Express.

i have NAV internet security 2005(includes NAV etc) with the firewall disabled...giving too much kuk , but i have enabled my nVidia's nForce4's forceware firewall, its a great hardware firewall built into the chipset, using this firewall which physicaly sits between the network interface and the rest of the system, my cpu doesnt get bugged as much as by the software only equivilents, eg)zone alarm, Nortan Firewall etc . This is all behind my ipcop firewall box.... I belive NAV2005 is a very good product, and i havent noticed any performance hit due to it...

I've found a good scrubbing brush does the trick !

Dip that motherboard in some nice warm soapy water and scrub it down roughly.
Stir some ram into a cup of tea, and pop the hard drive into the microwave for a quick freshening spin !

Put it all together and your PC will be so fast, it'll be like a flash of light and you'll be in heaven (or hell) instantly !

But there won't be a virus to be found anywhere on your computer !

i dont use anti virus cos im l33t.. also i dont download cracks, dont visit pr0n sites, dont use kazaa, dont do torrents, and also dont run any suspect looking email attachments.. BUT, having said that, I would use AVG antivirus, which ive been doing for years but too lazy to install again

I just reinstalled Windoze, and swapped back to AVG from Avast out of interest. All seems well thus far (Last time I used it was version 6 before installing Avast 5).

Hi All,

Sorry to revive an old thread but,

I have lost my ezantivirus 6.2 exe and for verious reasons I do not want to install 7.x. can anyone help out with a copy of 6.2.x or 6.3.x

I am a licensed user, but only version 7 is available to download and support is being withdrawn for 6.1.x . CA South Africa don't even try to help.

No matter what. DONT USE NORTONS. Yes, its that bad. Its a resource hungry badly coded antivirus that takes over your system and often messes it up. I have software designed by another company specificly designed to remove nortons safely.

Personaly, I use Trend Internet Security 2005. Not resource hungry, and extremely effective with a lot of cool features. Notice hotmail left mcafee for trend
