what anti-virus do you use?

Having asked that i remebered where to look :-) .

Jeepers IE is a hungry little program as well.
 
yes, norton installs unneccessary software, that u dont need...

E-trust is the best :):)
 
I've used Norton Antivirus for round about 9 years now (almost my entire life re: PC's) and havent had 1 infection (many attempts though, via email etc)

I won't recommend installing Norton System Works or Norton Firewall Security (or whatever) JUST the Norton Antivirus.

Virus scanners like McAfee and Trend Micro (when I tried them) was what you describe what happens when you install Nortons.

Each to his own I guess, but the track record for me speaks for itself.
 
then you have a slow machine, I see no degradation on my machine after installing norton antivirus.

1gb ram
100gb hard drive
3ghz P4+HT

Oh, and this is a laptop...

But I'd install AVG if it was a server ;)
 
i am using Nortons AV 2005 and run regular updates the only time i find that it slows anything down is when i am downloading a file etc, btu that is only for a short period, browsing no problem. Have found it to be excellent with blocking worms etc.

Second that.

I read a couple reviews online, and it seems PC Cillin comes out at top in a lot of cases. Just thought id share this, use it.. loose it.. :)
 
NAV Corporate, sucks a bit 'cause I cant update it myself but at least the hastle aint mine.
 
Well funny enough, towards the end of last month i went a crazy phase of trying out all the commonly available ones, both rated well and personal favourites.. And to be honest many of them were nice and had some pro's but at the end i returned to Norton Systemworks 2005 Premier, it's the least hassle in setting up and the most unobtrusive...

Well thats just what i think.... Use it/ Don't use it... Your choice...
 
I've used NAV for years and haven't had any problems. Currently using NAV 2005 and resource use isn't bad at all (~30 MB), especially these days where most people are running at least 512MB of RAM.
 
Kasperskey is the best

:) come on guys, kaspersky is the best, it does'nt give hysterical warnings and does not really reaquire much attention, and it offers constant updates. Best of all is that the updates are free, with nortan after a year they charge you with a fee, a monthly fee i think to get updates.

So in my opinion Kaspersky is the best anti-virus program
 
I dont believe in anti-virus software so I dont use it.

Kaspersky is good.
Recently installed NOD32. Good as well.

I cannot say which is the better of the two, but I am using both on separate machines.
So far Kaspersky has picked up several Trojan Downloaders, but nothing significant.
Quite frankly, although I run all this Anti Virus, my own machine has yet to become infected.

MWeb AFAIK recently moved from Norton to NOD32.
 
Trsnd anti virus (PC Cillin) is way better than Norton I'll never go back
 
Use to have Norton AV 2004 and Norton Internet Security - terrble on resources. Just switched to F-secure - seems fine but Zone Alarm does not work (wont install) with F-secure.
