What antivirus do you specify free/pro/internet security and why?

I use Avast 9 Premier 2014 because of the UI

I use the "Don't be a retard" anti-virus system.

It has never failed me.

Panda Cloud Protection
Sophos
Total Defense
Windows Defender/Essentials

The above is in relation with Windows and I do use all 4 on different devices, also for testing purposes.

FEP

Used ESET before but after a virus bypassed it and did some damage to our network I moved us over to FEP as we already had SCCM.

Pretty good for private use too as you can use the enterprise variant as a standalone system, it just wont be centrally managed but it will still pull updates from internet.

Works from Win 7 straight thru server 2012r2(which doesn't come with the built in system any more)

I really used to like Prevx, especially being installed as the secondary line, until they amalgamated with Webroot, nothing wrong with Webroot, but Prevx used to provide great unbiased statistically openly available detection data on each and every anti-virus it ran along with. Now with Webroot, this data is gone...

But then how would you be able to clean the viruses off after visiting all those PRON sites?

Part of the don't be a retard ethos is staying away from anything that's free.

So porn from your iPad or incognito more if you absolutely have to in a Desktop.

Of course not running Windows is the first principle of don't be a retard antivirus.

What people forget is that no single antivirus is infallible. You can't install an AV and expect your PC to remain clean. I use Norton Internet Security and run Malwarebytes Antimalware and Spybot Search and Destroy scans once a week. Combine something like that with a bit of common sense by not going to dodgy sites or downloading dodgy stuff, and you should be reasonably safe.

Of course not running Windows is the first principle of don't be a retard antivirus.

It's also the first principle of not being able to play every game that is released, so most of us stick with Windows.

That's what Playstations are for. ;)

But seriously. Microsoft Security Essentials + Half a Brain does the job.

Combination of Panda Cloud Antivirus, Malwarebytes, Microsoft Security Essentials & common sense.
