What Antivirus do you use??

The guys saying the only thing that's needed is "common sense", i think you lack common sense.
Do you know how easy it is to get a virus?, it does not even have to be a "suspicious" website, you get a virus from normal websites, CD's, Memory sticks, emails, if you are on a network you get network viruses that can easily infiltrate your system.
Being cautions will help but most definitely does not cover every corner, and you are naive if you think it does.

To answer OP, I use MSE in conjunction with Comodo Internet security which has a world class firewall integrated, general rule of thumb is never install 2 Antivirus systems on the same machine, but these 2 work flawlessly with each other.

Well put man thanks for your positive input :)

Would you just leave a guy who likes a densely-populated notification area alone, please? I have a densely-populated toolbar area on my IE6 and you don't see my being all judgmental.
antivirus use a lot of your system memory to conduct system scans and other related operations. If you have two of these operating simultaneously, your system’s effectiveness can be greatly diminished or completely wiped out altogether, and without any benefit, since the two are performing redundant operations.

windows defender + windows firewall + Up to date windows OS have been working for me for ages

Works fine for me. Picks up more viruses than Trend Micro. Especially those ones that jump on your memory stick
