I'm looking for something that's eye opening, thought provoking, and mind blowing.
Please don't post about UFO and Alien crap....something along the lines of CitizenFour (which is one documentary I'm looking forward to watching), something real.

The Men Who Stare At Goats
pretty close to what you asked not to post about BUT it's pretty mind blowing.
It's based on a book by Jon Ronson about the U.S. Army's exploration of New Age concepts and the potential military applications of the paranormal (thank you wikipedia)

Inside Job
Inside Job is a 2010 documentary film about the late-2000s financial crisis directed by Charles H. Ferguson. The film is described by Ferguson as being about "the systemic corruption of the United States by the financial services industry and the consequences of that systemic corruption."[3] In five parts, the film explores how changes in the policy environment and banking practices helped create the financial crisis.

Ch4.Unreported.World. Carjack.City---showing the world from a UK perspective how messed up SA is

history channel modern marvels--- only got the one for disneyworld, but its so interesting if you've never been there,
(how they make an opel corsa drive backwards at 100KM/H and where all the trash goes after you throw it away).

and finally an australian edition of highway patrol, how a police force should be run, how they dont take SH*t from anybody,
for minor things in SA a quick bribe and your on your way, there in AU locked up or suspended licence for really small things like not having ID with you

just something to make you really love documentaries

The more graphical (lots of blood and lots of killing) the better.

Wow thanks, this completes my search...that list will keep me going for a long time, minus a few I've already watched and ones I just won't.

Fed Up is a 2014 American documentary film directed, written and produced by Stephanie Soechtig.[1] The film focuses on the causes of obesity in the US, presenting evidence showing that the large quantities of sugar in processed foods are an overlooked root of the problem, and points to the monied lobbying power of "Big Sugar" in blocking attempts to enact effective policies to address the issue.

The Cove is a 2009 documentary film that analyzes and questions dolphin hunting practices in Japan. It was awarded the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature in 2010. The film is a call to action to halt mass dolphin kills, change Japanese fishing practices, and to inform and educate the public about the risks, and increasing hazard, of mercury poisoning from dolphin meat. The film is told from an ocean conservationist's point of view. The film highlights the fact that the number of dolphins killed in the Taiji dolphin drive hunting is several times greater than the number of whales killed in the Antarctic, and claims that 23,000 dolphins and porpoises are killed in Japan every year by the country's whaling industry. The migrating dolphins are herded into a cove where they are netted and killed by means of spears and knives over the side of small fishing boats. The film argues that dolphin hunting as practiced in Japan is unnecessary and cruel.
