What are your thoughts on Taxify?

It seems like Taxify gets no love on this forum. I've been using their service in Cape Town over the last couple of months, and I must say it has been on par, if not better than Uber. It seems like Uber are a bit overwhelmed at the moment and Taxify are taking advantage of this opportunity by heavily marketing.

Their Tuesdays are now 50% off, which I believe puts it at around R3.5/km (plus other fees. The app UI is near identical. The only issue is that there aren't as many cars on the road, and the wait times are sometimes a bit long. They are currently also offering R150 referrals for first users, plus R100 for yourself when referring.

So, let's hear what everyone has to say :)

I've used them a few times. Prices were more or less equivalent to Uber and always had good service. Granted I was taking them from Monte so never had wait times (at least no longer than 2 minutes.)
 
I've used them and was very happy. I don't see a need to use Uber when Taxify is cheaper. No issues at all. Taxify is on a big drive to increase market share.
 
I remember using Findalift.co.za before Uber came along.

Was a stunning idea.

Yep, exactly. I've spoken to the drivers and a lot of them are Uber drivers anyways. It seems they are earning more with Taxify though.
 
They need to get on board with FNB so I can get 15% back from them too.

Sticking with Uber until then.
 
They suspended me for a silly reason. I opened a second account because my first account didn't accept my card & I was not going use cash. Their app sucks! They found out I had 2 accounts so I was automatically suspended. However, I have explained to them that if they look at my history... Only one is the active account & I have never used any other account ( not even for promo codes)...never... I'm still suspended. It's hard to add a card and their help centre takes 2 whole days before you get a reply. I even asked them to check my help as proof I could not enter my bank account. They simply do not care. Now, I only use Uber. Atleast Uber has a better help service. I calculated price difference between Uber & taxify here in Cape Town, I found no difference. Nice benefit of taxify was that sometimes when you request for a cab you can get an Uber black for the same price as normal Uber as some driver's are Uber drivers too. This happened to me when I was in CBD, Cape Town. However, Some of the driver's are poor English speakers too & communication is so hard. Something I rarely experience with an Uber driver.
