I have been chopping and changing deodorants all year, trying to find one that works best.
I was using roll-on but have found that after a while there is a hard/waxy build up on my shirts in the arm pit regions that just don't wash out. (im not an excessive sweater but cant seem to prevent this on my shirts) I have had to start throwing away shirts because of this. The build up actually smells like sweat/deodorant and is just disgusting!

Mitchum PowerGel - Antiperspirant (gel under-arm roll on thingy), I put it on straight after I shower and let it dry while I assemble my clothing. My first few weeks of using it i noticed that it would make white marks by the armpit area of my T-Shirt, but 3years down the line, ive learnt to live with it and I never smell, If I forget to put it on i end up sweating under my pits by 1pm which is unpleasant. there are odourless ones aswell so if u dont want it to interefere with ur musky EDT you can use it. IMO i think all of them can cause this build up, you just have to use it correctly.

After gym I go home then shower, i dont bother with spraying

My friends use Addidas quite a few of them so it cant be that bad

Perspirex - Put it on once a week and u dont sweat at all. It works stupidly well, but i presume at some point i will drop dead randomly, since usually something that works that well has to have side effects. Then just some Solo to smell good :) The nice thing about
perspirex is also that u was it off before u get dressed, so it avoids damaging clothes. U wear it overnight.

Nothing wrong if you don't have BO but nothing worse than like the one guy in the office that wears nothing and really honks during summer - his one of those intellects that read somewhere that silver makes you go all old-timers sooner

I know this thread was aimed at the guys, but as a lady who has to buy the deo's for hubby (and myself) I'd like to share my experience.

The Mitchum Power Gels work really well for odour and sweat control (for both men and ladies), but they do get onto your shirt under the arms and over time it becomes hard and white.
This is because the gel gets onto your clothing if you put the shirt on right after applying, or if you put on too much. A lot of roll-on types do this though, not just Mitchum.

Before I got Mitchum for hubby, he was just using deodorants. Please understand that there is a difference between a deodorant and an antiperspirant. Deodorant is just smell-nice stuff, which has no odour or sweat reduction properties. If you want to control your sweat you need an antiperspirant. I switched him over to antiperspirants which do a much better job. A deodorant just tries to mask the smell by putting a layer of nice smell on top of it. We tried a variety and found Mitchum to be the most effective and long-lasting.

With Mitchum, you should put on a very very thin layer. You don't need to glob it on. Also, you need to put it on and either let it dry for a few minutes before putting on a shirt, or put the shirt on first and then put the antiperspirant on. Mitchum first + dry time works best though. That way the gel doesn't rub off on the shirt, so no build-up. That white hard stuff is also almost impossible to get out again. Hubby has also had to throw away a bunch of shirts because of it.

An alternative that works really well is the Mitchum spray. It's an antiperspirant spray, not just a deodorising (aka "smell-nice") spray. It's as strong and works as well as the gel, but it doesn't do the underarm build-up because it's an aerosol and not gel. It has a very neutral smell though, so on top of that you put a bit of Axe. Or Old Spice. (or in my case, a bit of perfume/deo)

I die for the smell of chocolate Axe. Mmmmmmmmm.

I use teh Nivea :D That stuff is the bomb!

I used to use Sanex first but with gymming and stuff it didn't last the whole day so I switched over to Nivea; don't have that problem anymore as Nivea just keeps on working - in fact, I have to wash/scrub it off in the evening.
