I have been chopping and changing deodorants all year, trying to find one that works best.
I was using roll-on but have found that after a while there is a hard/waxy build up on my shirts in the arm pit regions that just don't wash out. (im not an excessive sweater but cant seem to prevent this on my shirts) I have had to start throwing away shirts because of this. The build up actually smells like sweat/deodorant and is just disgusting!

Not sure if you have tried Dove, works brilliantly for me.

You mention residue buildup on your shirts. How much do you rub on under your arms to actually cause a buildup?

Personally cannot stand the smell of spray cans.

I remember reading about some sort of antiperspirant available at Dischem, thatbwas aluminium free etc, i am trying to see if i can find it

Playboy Amazon can also be a bitch to find!!

Luckily in our small town it's rather difficult to find so most of the time I'm the only dude that uses it (pretty involved with the High school, churches and businesses).

I've been using AXE Dark Temptation since my high school years. It's a bit on the sweet side, so it smells a bit perfumy, but I love it and I generally tend to get a lot of compliments about smelling nice. The pretty assistant (who I had a slight crush on) at the orthodontist I used to go to in high school always complimented me on smelling really nice, so it just stuck.

I use both roll-on and deodorant though, because deodorant alone is generally not enough to prevent me from smelling like sweat on a busy/hot day. For roll-on I simply use the odourless Shield roll-on, then AXE all over it.

Brut deodorant.

I hate Brut. Whenever I smell it it makes me think back on my high school res days, because I used it exclusively back then.

I've been getting stains in recent years on shirts, discovered that anti-perspirants or deodorants with aluminium are to blame.

I always get those stupid white marks on the armpits of my clothes, so I use Nivea Invisible. Even Mitchum roll on didn't prevent those marks, so I tried their spray, but it doesn't stop the sweating enough.

Nivea has served me well so far. That Perspirex is also excellent. It is very strong though, so it kinda burns my skin for a while. I think a girl that shaves would cry herself to sleep.

I use a salt stick for everyday use. I work mostly outdoors in hot climates so I shower twice a day, but never have a problem with smell or stains. I use some kind of Axe anti perspirant if I'm going out in the evening though :)
