What determines speed?

Are you able to use normal people language? ;)

Basically - am I right in saying I have a mini high site on my roof?
So my modem is connecting to that highsite - hence those figures?

Almost like an ADSL line into a wifi router - and I connect to the router?
If the ADSL fscks around - I will still see a 100% link to the router?

The BTS will use this level to decide when to schedule packets to you and thus what your speed will be like.
Assuming repeater is not decoding as per UnUnOctium post, BTS will receive what modem see (from repeater) and reports back to the BTS. That will be a false indication, not what repeater see.

Hi guys,

Here are the results - with Cell ID with MDMA

Speedtest was done on speedtest.net - but without the booster, Vodacom is DEAD and I won't connect. It's also not an antenna as nothing connects to phones, iPads etc - so it i a booster/repeater item

What does LAC stand for?
Starting to look like an overloaded tower more and more given how the ping is quite good (I'm assuming you did several tests and averaged them) while the throughput suffers.

I copied lack from MDMA ... I have no clue what it means ;)

Yea - it's actually been around those figures since I moved in 7 months back. So at least it's consistent - and I understand they're busy erecting another high site in the area due for a few months time
