What do you name your computers?

I like to give my computers names that are meaningful, to me at least. So, in my home network I had three computers, which I named red, blue and green. Blue - has a blue case, green - had Linux Mint with a green desktop and red because it made a nice set.

But now I've downgraded to two computers, and I decided I needed a new set of names. Took me a while to find a pair that I liked - but I've decided to name them after the Marx brothers, Groucho and Karl.

So, what do you name your computers, and why?
 
Sometimes I'll go with random names like "The Taxi". There'll be times where I use a certain 'pattern' you could say, like 'PC Primordium', 'PC Secondus' etc.

But lately I don't bother with names.
 
I generally go with Greek gods.

My desktop is Hephaestus, my laptop Apollo, server is Mnemosyne, and the one Windows box in the house is called Hades (three guesses as to why :D)
 
My main box : Marvin (from Hitch Hikers Guide)
My notebook : Hiro (Heroes) ... YATTA!!!
Server : ZIM (Invader Zim)
Media center : Vash (Trigun (anime))
Fiance's PC : Mort (Terry Pratchett)
Firewall/IP Cop box : ipcop (was not feeling creative that day)
 
I use Harry Potter related names :p
Yeah. Total nerd. :D

Firewall is dementor
Wife's pc is flitwick
Kids pc is harry
Mine is phoenix (has been snape previously)
Server is hogwarts
When I had a laptop, it was draco.

I'm gonna go and hide my head in shame now.
 
wow its amazing how many ppl name their pc's lol

i call it my computer

the other computers are the other computers
 
My laptop is zart coz it has a zapsign & bart simpson on it. But I'll have to name it after the peeps on TK pointed out to me what it means :o

Will probably have to choose a female name so it won't give me so much crap :eek:
 
HTPC and Main :o

And I'm not sure that I can say those are their names, just how I refer to them if I have to.

lol... I do that as well! :eek: but more so with other computers that I set up for my people!

My home computers are called Thunderbird, Firebird and Blackbird.

My hard drives are named after planets or astronomical terms.
 
Desktop = Inspector62.
I saw this name on a round yellow sticker stuck inside the carton of a roll of toilet paper. As I got back from the loo, the XP installation was at the naming and identification screens, so it stuck with me.

The laptop is named to conform to our company's AD naming convention.

Server - PornBackup
Notebook - MobilePorn

I name my pcs all the different names for hell, cause i still feel that they were send by the devil to make my life a living hell, g@d I need to go and learn some artisan skill
