What do your pay your gardener?

R150.00 for two hours graft, plus a plate of nosh and a beer. Once a week and he gets a ton of freebies from us, like DVD players, two bicycles, furniture,old washing machine, tumble dryer etc.

Does not wash cars and that stuff, just rakes the leafs, I have a gardening service that does the real work... :unsure:

Paid him R300 for 3 hours of actual garden work. If work continues to be great then I'll easily pay him R150 p/h.
 
You pay what you can afford and above the minimum wage. That way a lot more people are employed. If R150 per hour was the norm only a very small percentage will be employed. If you can afford it, good for you. If you can't, pay what you can. The gardener can decide if he/she wants to work there or find a richer family. If you can afford to pay a good and hard working gardener more but you pay only the bare minimum wage, you are a cheapskate.
