innocent until proven guilty????

After years of being sworn at and being called a k****r and a "baboon", a 55-year-old Soweto man broke down in court while reliving the abuse he suffered from a racist who also hit him with a walking stick.

shouldn't the bold part be "alleged racist". We've discussed this sometime last year as well, whenever whites wronged blacks, they are immediately guilty, but when blacks wrong whites, it doesn't even get mentioned?

First of, if this old whitey did do all these thing, then shame on him  , but everyday we hear "innocent until proven guilty" ... unless the offender is white....

Manana said that whenever he parked his car, Renney, whose house is opposite the parking lot, would make sure there was no one around before holding up the boards to him or producing a dildo and making obscene actions with it.

so no other witnesses, yet this old oomie is still guilty till proven innocent....

Inspector Freddie Ledwaba, of the Cleveland police station, confirmed that Manana had opened two cases with them.

"One was dismissed by the court due to lack of evidence and I do not know the outcome of the other one," he said.

lack of evidence, if he got beaten with a stick, wouldn't there have been bruises???

I'm not trying to defend the white oomie, and if he is found guilty, he should be punished, but i'm just getting sick and tired that the media immediately calling "Racist" and "guilty" when whites allegedly wronged a black....

I think there are more to the story than what we read here. The other side of the story seems to be missing.
It's a retirement village, yet no witnesses? Very unlikely as old people have like to keep track on what other people are doing. The best neighbourhood watch there is.

ja, its sound a bit "too" one sided....

but thats not the big issue for me, the issue is the reporter saying "the abuse he suffered from a racist" :wtf: <- this is the wrong part for me

how does the journalist know he's a racist? has he been found guilty already? was the journalist there

I'm now calling this journalist Botho Molosankwe a racist....

I thought all ANC supporters and officials were guilty of corruption charged or not. And isn't Zuma a rapist/fraud/corrupt if this forum is anything to go by.
Stick to the topic at hand and stop trying to make doublespeak accusations.

Pffft. Of course they are... except in the media, where it is still "alleged" and "charged with corruption".

You are waisting your time to try and convince them otherwise.

that was the crux of my issue, this guy should have been called "alleged" racist, same as any other person charged with something.

Reporters aren't courts of law, they can say what they want unfortuantely.

Yea, it's just a pity that in Zuma's case, (after being so vocal about wanting it) he was simply flat-out denied his day in court to prove his innocence.

"One day he held the board again reading 'Simon jou k****r' and waved the dildo around.

Racial slurs aside, if I saw an old man waving a marital aid I'd probably break down and cry too.

no suprises there...guilty as charged. Why should i need evidence for something that comes natural to those that like to be called africans.

pathetic thread.

That is in a court of law and it is a rule journalist should apply, but surly I can look at the facts and makeup my own mind.

Yeah but the only way one can be proven guilty is in a court of law is it not?

According to South African law, he already has been found guilty. In an earlier corruption trial (not involving Zuma) the judge declared that in all corruption cases there are two parties, the giver and the receiver. He declared both are guilty. Judge Squire found Shubir Shaik (the giver) guilty of corruption in his dealings with Jacob Zuma (the receiver). As such precedent has already dictated that Jacob Zuma, was guilty by mere association, of participating in corruption.
