Unless it's hidden in some obscure section, I'm pretty sure there was a thread related to PC Zone's birthday specials?

I don't think the negative feedback wrt to pc zone was appreciate so they probably pulled it.

Maybe we need a anti pc zone web site, twitter & facebook page to warn people about this company.

At risk if losing this thread too, may I ask what's so wrong with them?

Ah, lovely censorship

Seriously tho, I still wanted to read about the PC Zone warnings now it's gone. Could someone please link to that thread or at least report?

They have quite poor customer service or at least obnoxious staff. I've never had any issue buying from them though I was kinda put off by the chaps "my **** don't stink" attitude when I asked him a question about a product.

Personally, I've never had anything go wrong with anything I've bought from them (hard-drives, DVD writers) though I've never bought a built-up desktop which seem to be the most problematic.

It was surely RAS'd (reported as spam) and subsequently deleted. No censorship IMO.

AFAIK they/their employees/friends would need to register as Dealer in order to post ads.

Arrogant.
Bad service.
Clueless staff.

Brand new pc from them would not post on boot, took it straight back. Owner calls me a liar when I said I did not open the case. The sticker came lose by itself, not properly stuck down. I walked out as it's probably the closest I came to moering someone.

Another PC MB failure, take it in and they remove MB. Can't source the exact same replacement so will only issue a credit voucher. Buy another MB online to discover all the MB standoffs are missing in the case. Go back to them and the guy tells me I never brought the case in, WTF? Words were exchanged and I get a handful of different standoffs.

HDD has bad sectors, they find nothing wrong with it using their Seagate diagnostic software. Ok I'll take it back and wait for the bad sectors to increase and then give it back to them. Second time round due to no invoice (but they checked on their system and acknowledged that it came from them) they wanna bill me R150 just to look at it due to no invoice, thats 25% of a new drives price. F you, I will not pay it.

23" Samsung LCD, DOA. No immediate swap out, I have to wait almost a week for a replacement so the vendor can check it or whatever.

Mate needs a new laptop HDD, phone and specifically state I need a 2.5" SATA drive, sure no problem and gives me a price which seems a bit cheap, ask him to verify it's a laptop drive, yes sure it is. We drive there and get "no we don't sell any 2.5" drives whatsoever, never have" the d**s on the phone is nowhere to be found although he was there, unfortunately I could not remember who I spoke to.

Complaints about this place are very common. One guy even made the local paper when he went to picket with a big signboard outside their shop :D

Wow ponder you really have had a tough time with them!

The only problem I have with them is the help. DO NOT ask them for advice as most of the time they'll try sell you stuff you don't need. I saved one person in store who was being sold a R2k graphics card when he wasn't even going to be playing games :(

Once they figure out you know your stuff about computers they steer clear and leave you alone to browse the store.

When i buy stuff from there i always play dumb with the salesmen, as though I dont know anything about PC's. Makes them feel clever, and gets me my **** faster coz they feel like they're really helping. But obviously I make sure what I get will work!

Why does anyone buy from them? (You seem to go back there time and again?)

Prices don't look better than Esquire and Esquire have just been getting better and better at client service and prices.

Wouldn't support them, not because of their attitude or service level, more because their prices are unimpressive.

Convenience & location(s) more than anything else... Most of my bigger stuff I buy from Esquire still.

only always have problems with them when it comes to RAM and graphics cards.

3x ATI 4830 gigabyte cards in 3 weeks. (was unaware that gigabyte was bad at the time, lesson learned)
everytime i upgrade my ram i have to take 1 stick back as its faulty. (since the days of ddr400) must be the zone curse

also WHY THE F do they even sell gigabyte ODINS ?!?!

bought a LED 23 inch samsung from them , everything seems fine so far. Its only been day 2 .

somehow i figured out that they are overpriced with the gfx cards etc and since then i dont buy anything from them anymore. pinnacle ftw

Lets face it, we buy from them coz they're cheap, and you can walk in there coz we live close by and they sell to the general public.
