I have never had any drama at PC Zone, Esquire, Sahara, IC, Kalahari, Take2. In fact the vast majority of places -- excluding Telkom & M/Choice naturally :D

Always reminds me of:

If you always seem to have drama in your life, you are probably the one causing the drama.
If customer service representatives or restaurant servers always seem to be rude to you, you are probably the one being rude.
If your computer always seems to be freezing up on you, you're probably doing something wrong.
In my experience, drama begets drama, rudeness begets rudeness, and ineptitude begets ineptitude.

:D

PC Zones Pinetown.... was a dreadful little store when I was in Durban last year. No room for stock and people. Cramped. No airconditioning. Nothing to put your items into, no space for trolley / no baskets. The queue at the till snaked inside the shop around shelves, and jostled for space with browsing customers + staff. Only 1 till, not 1 active till, one single till with a constantly jamming dot-matrix printer and only 1 person at the till. Spent 10 minutes browsing, staff would nod in the direction of stock queried or shrug, point and vanish into the backroom.... I found some cheap flash-drives and keyboards and stuff, balanced everything and joined the queue... I dumped everything on a shelf and left after being stuck in the till-point queue for 30 minutes.

Bah. You get what you pay for - my experience with them.

Your assuming things, that or you're a meek limp wristed dude that takes all the schit companies pass your way.
Only other place I've had issues with is Sahara and that was probably 8yrs ago when I stopped buying from them.

Aren't you the drama queen ;)

Come on guys we are not that bad. You can't compare our pricing to the likes of Esquire and Pinnacle cause they are distributors. We have have to buy from them to sell to the end users. So no doubt if you have an account with distributors you will get it cheaper than we can sell it for. As far as it goes to customer service, I applogise to anyone who has ever had poor service from any of my employees. I have been on a drive this year, trying to do everything I can to improve customer service. Would like to ask anyone who was given poor customer service if they brought to it any of my store managers attention? I have followed up on a few complaints by customers. Staff get disciplined internally like any other company and process of warnings has to happen. The staff in Pinetown has drastically changed since the start of the year. We have two other stores in Musgrave and Ballito and I have received very few complaints. So just wondering if everyone here is moaning about Pinetown. As far as faulty products go we only buy from local distributors and do not important anything ourselves. So warranties are all covered by our suppliers and we are at the mercy of their turnaround times and procedures. My email adress is [email protected] I am the GM of pczone and more than willing to assist any customers with anything. I will try keep in touch on these forums but seldom have time to sit and read through them. Would like to thank everyone for their support over the last 12 years.

Nice to have another company rep on this site, I'd recommend you PM rpm and have a look at this thread:

It might work out to be something mutually beneficial.

Why do you require an invoice for returned goods when it's already on your system and then try and bill a customer R150 if they can no longer find the invoice. You know the goods came from you and you know when it was sold. Seems like a money making racket to me.

How do they know it came from them?

Any supplier worth their salt records serial numbers for warranty claims. If they didn't, a customer could take an out of guarantee product in on an in guarantee invoice.

Rectron for one just scan the barcode and know exactly when it was bought.

Because it's on their system. With or without an invoice they still check the system when it comes back to them.

The details are recorded as part of stock and when they sell it the details remain on the system against the invoice/sale.

Okay that's odd. Both times that I've bought my TV from Makro they've recorded the serial numbers manually and just scanned it for the price. I assumed the price barcode would be different to the manufacturer's serial number as otherwise you'd have to import all the S/N onto the system rather than just one? There again, Makro also is unique in that they have all my details on my Makro card too. Not sure how expensive purchases work elsewhere.
