What is "expensive" biltong wise?

Snap sticks =the leftover dried crap at bottom of biltong bag you find at the back of the fridge after 5 weeks.

I just came from Die Vleiswinkel. Bought what IMO is the best biltong in WC for R 189/kg....
 
Anyone tried Chops Biltong? Some of the best IMO. Their chicken varieties, wagyu, etc are all interesting.
 
I see that Pick and Pay has some cuts of biltong for R189.95... but upon closer inspection the meat looks like terrible cuts, full of sinew and fat. Not straight but always deformed.
 
Noticed that Checkers selling pre-packed biltong at R460/kg at the checkout aisles. Kalahari Biltong brand IIRC.

You can make biltong from just about any cut ...... The only variable is the time and effort it takes to get rid of sinew and connective tissue. made some of my best biltong from "stewing steak" just took a lot longer to prepare.

Well, their chicken biltong has no smell. But I know what you mean. Try it, maybe you'll be converted :P Doesn't replace beef though..
