what is the big advantage with IOS over Android?

Wish the Linux boxes I work on and manage daily would be like iOS.

I tinker enough in my job with various Linux flavors, no need to do so on my iPhone too.

There is no one size fits all, use what works for you.

All the ifans baffles me on their stories of how Android restarts every few days on them, before moving over to iPhones. I'm yet to encounter that, and I had my share of Android phones.

Can't say I've had that.

Lol, maybe God not only made people male/female but made iOS/Android users and rigged the system so that iOS users would have crappy experiences with Android and vice versa.

Weather we like it or not iOS is more stable than Android as software but at what costs? Personally I wouldn't sacrifice my options and freedom for stability. Yes there are androids that can perform even better than iPhones. Maybe some stabilty issues might come in time. But there is one thing Android has and I love that iPhones will never have. And that is the freedom of Control. I can control my device anyway I want and it doesn't have to control me via iTunes or the cloud.

Most of the stability issues on Android are due to cheap phones skewing the statistics.

I wasn't talking about statistics I am being more realistic. The other I grabbed my brothers iPhone 6s plus and checked the background apps he must have had at least 40of them running at the time and you would effortless do whatever you wanted without even a small hick up. Now if I try and do the same with an Android phone even flagship range and try record a 4k video like I did with the iPhone you will not have the same performance. Androids power managment and iOS is not up to the same standard. Windows mobile is but they are far behind in many other things.

Really? You do realize they aren't truly "running" in the background?
And I don't have any issues with freeze/lag on the S6.

The other day she comes to me and tells me her game is stuttering to much. And then I check the brackground apps and ram remaining and I was in shock. Every social media app the browser whaysapp, music was running in the background. Ram free ? 33mb out 2gb. No wonder it was suffering. It doesn't change the fact that she never wants to go back to her iPhone 5 the same reason I don't want to ever go back.

also I dont like IOS spying and privacy features, that everything gets routed through Apple,
I know android is also guilty of such things, but android has apps that can limit how you conenct.

Actually like to see a tcpdump on both phones out the box to do comparison.

Are you sure the RAM was the bottleneck and not the weak processor? Android (and Apple) will try and keep recently used programs in memory so that you can switch to them faster, it will drop the app if more memory is required.

I still find it much easier to get items from multiple iOS app stores than I with the Play Store.

Well Google are old hands at consuming all the available memory and bringing computers to their knees. They even have something you can run your desktop to achieve the same thing, called Chrome.

So signing the one Apple ID and signing with another is easier? Than just sideloading an app you just downloaded from your web browser? Hard to believe but when you own Apple sometimes you have to work a bit harder for work arounds.

When it comes to total control. Total control you have only by rooting a device. Which by the way much easier processess rooting than jailbreaking an iPhone. Android you can manipulate way more parameters and permissions than iPhone. Plus OTG plus expendable memories. Is that not consider control over your device?

Chrome does require resources but it's faster and the integrations that it has on desktop applications if you can discover them are simply awesome and makes life hands down so much easier . Safari the best you can is reader offline mode.

Jonathan I swear I fell in love with the g7 and I was very sad to give it to my wife. The phone has been a true soldier solid perfomer ( not firkeworks like flagshiips but get the job done) I really the simplicity of the EMUI and proctivity wise awesome little features. If only I wasn't in love with the LG g3 screen

That's exactly what I meant by having to force kill apps to make it usable.

At some point it starts to feel like the screen isn't working for a lack of OS responsiveness.

This NEVER happens on iOS.

From my iPhone 3GS, 4S, 5S to 6 I have never ever needed to close apps short of doing a major OS update where some oddities occur.

There is absolutely no need for this manual intervention on iOS...and frankly it seems like a piss poor excuse to call it "control" on Android.

If you are happy to accept a sub standard resource managing OS...by all means make excuses for it, but I see it as a major pain in the ass.

You know how to work it because you can I can do things on my piss off Android that iPhone can't even dream about. That's what I like my about my Android. I like that I can plug otg and store files on my phone. I like that can exchange files and media via nfc and Bluetooth. That it's plug and play on my computer. That this whole time I am using my phone to type this message while it's downloading a movie on the torrent client and using it as a remote for my tv cause I am to lazy to find the actual one. I like the fact that I can the permissions the platform (apps) gets. I like the fact that I can optimize my phone so bad to get 8 hours on screen time. Or the fact that I am not limited on storage. Or the fact that I can change my launcher keyboard buttons even my ringtone (without having to pay) . I like Apple is solid simple stable. But in life you need excitment in order to live. Android offers me that. Apple doesn't. But I don't dismiss Apple like you do with android. I still like Apple and when they excite me enough again like they did before i will give them another go. For now I will enjoy my 2 LG and my ipad 3 which Apple has given me no reason to upgrade and I thank them for it. Still supported still running awesome and does what it's supposed too. If the shoe fits wear it.
