What is your view on UFOs?

Man-made or other phenomena.

There is life out there, possibly intelligent as well, but the sheer vastness of space and distances involved means we'll likely never cross paths.

I seriously doubt we are alone in the Universe and that there are far more advances species, so yes, I believe Aliens/UFO's do exist.

the problem is the physics of travel, the nearest galaxy to our solar system is 40 000 light years away, thats a long journey even if you are travelling at the speed of light

and if you can fold spacetime and so forth, you wouldn't be using a two man flying saucer to do it with

For there to be nothing in vast universe other than us humans on a minuscule planet we call earth .... it would be an awful waste of space!
So yes, I do believe there is more "life" in the universe, intelligent or not (could be plant based) and might not even be carbon based.

The UFO's as seen on earth, I sadly suspect are nothing more than a combination of instrument reading anomalies, experimental man-made craft and bad acid trips.

its mathematically Impossible for life to NOT exist outside Earth.
due to the amount of extra solar planets, and ingredients for life to exist.

whats more interesting is:
will we even recognize alien life if we ever come across it?
I mean what if its some kind of rock that only opens its mouth once every 20 years?

we might not have the tests, and the understanding to recognize it as intelligent life.

as for these UFO's captured by the US military,
we cant be totally sure what we are seeing here,
is it some black technology fighter program? being put through its paces against conventional forces.
a cocky pilot having some fun with a multi billion dollar piece of black project.

or actual aliens, scouting earth for a planned invasion.

all I do know is this,
if aliens do come, they will probably wipe us out with their technology and weapons.
and strip mine our planet for all its worth.

those of us they don't kill immediately, will be enslaved to strip mine for them,
our ONLY defense is staying hidden, hard to do when we have sent out the voyager probes with the golden disks
showing exactly where we are and how to get here.

Unidentified Flying Objects

The key here is the U word. At night I can hardly identify my toes let alone something glimpsed in the sky.

Imagine if we discovered evidence of intelligent life tomorrow, but the signal is, from say 1000 light years away, could we say with any certainty that the life still exists given that the signal was from 1000 years in the past?

Amazingly though, if you take into account how ideal conditions are on earth, and how bloody difficult it is to colonise mars it might just rule out 99.9% of all those nice planets in the universe.

Ufo's exist. As they're just unidentified flying objects. Those definitely exist. Are they of alien origin? I doubt it.

Does anyone else think that if aliens were to be here, undetected, that we'd be pretty much screwed? If they could make it all the way here AND remain undetected that means their technology is way beyond ours and it's only a matter of time before we're destroyed. So not just for the reason that there is no evidence of alien UFO's that can't be explained in some way using science, but the for the sake of humanity I sincerely hope there aren't aliens.

To answer OP's questions: I don't believe in alien UFO's. Only man made UFO's. Bear in mind the universe is massive (understatement) - There is certainly life out there, somewhere.

The question of are UFO's evidence of alien life visiting earth is not the same as Is there life (intelligent or otherwise) elsewhere in the universe.

UFO's are not little green men from Mars visiting earth. Logically there is no way that a superior technology capable of getting here would be so carelessly visible to random detection. And there is no logical reason why they would be switching off their stealth capabilities to make themselves visible in such arbitrary sightings. There is no pattern to it that can be ascribed to an intelligent agenda of covert acclimatization prior to contact or other similar program of controlled exposure.

So nope to aliens and yes to advanced human tech and other earthly explanations.

Oh, I dunno.
Reading Heinlein's The Number of the Beast made me realise that the tech can be advanced, but the monkeys operating it could still be capable of blunders.

So when the 'alien' spaceship darts off suddenly when it detects the radar surveillance the little green men on-board are going 'oh oops Garglezoop sat on the off-switch for the cloaking device again"? I don't see it. Once maybe, but repeatedly again and again over many years? Damn useless bunch of space monkeys they have.

Maybe there's just a high number of them. :D
I don't subscribe much to the nuts and bolts theory, myself - I tend towards the mystic. It's coming from us.

One theory is that this has been an ongoing but unofficial way to make us used to the idea that there are other intelligent beings, so that we don't get such a massive shock when it is truly revealed. Kind of like when you know someone is going to die.
