What ISP are you using at the moment for WoW?

I currently play on my Axxess Uncapped+ account, the latency is decent (300-400 in 25 ICC) but mostly because I don't have to worry about Vent eating up a lot of Mb.

I would like to keep a prepaid account (or even an Afrihost R29/month) account as a backup as the Axxess account does have hassles from time to time. Any suggestions? Play time is the normal 8/9pm to 12pm at night and weekends.

Do you make use of a SSH proxy service like smoothping or lowerping?

Currently using WA shaped account + private SSH proxy in Netherlands
Idle in City I have gone as low as 187ms, but playing around usually is 195-250ms, 25man raids go up to 300ms.

No proxies, straight connection. I tried the GameMax but I couldnt get it under 600 no matter which one of their servers I tried.

I use Axxess - Semi with gamemax and in dalaran I get average 210ms. Been a while since I raided, so not to sure what it is in there but in 5 mans, average around the 230ms mark.

I also have a WA unshaped account should I have probs with the axxess one.

mines axxess unshaped use no proxies or anything and get between 200ms and 330 ms sometimes 190

Imo you never setup Gamemax properly then. You will always notice a difference in latency.

I'm using Afrihost + Gamemax and never go higher than 220ms.

If you want to try gamemax again, try to use another SSH client other than Putty, or try to set up compression and set your encryption algorithm you use to another, such as Blowfish.

Ok thanks, will try again with the other settings and client.

I was dissapointed it wasn't working for me, as the people that told me about it had great success on it. I verified that it was going through Putty, since when I closed it (Putty) my WoW would DC.

MTN 3G/HSDPA with GameMax - usually average 250-300ms. Would love to get ADSL again though (used to play WoW on a 24Mb Connection in the UK - 10ms ftw?!)...
