What do they sell for? What about these bikes http://rapidbikes.co.za/bikes/pro-27-5-matte-black-red/. Are they any good?
Insane! If it costs more than R20k it is wasted on me. You can get enough bike for your money for less than R10k for that matter.

Seems to make use of entry level Shimano Altus/Acera drive train, not too bad, KMC chain is good. The 11-34t cassette is nice for climbing, usually you see 8 speed with 11-30t or 11-32t gears. I have never hear of XTECH brakes so I can't comment on that. My guess would be that the fork is SR Suntour which is OK for entry level bikes. Personally I am not a fan of 27.5 bikes, rather get 29er.
Looking at their other bikes, specifically the Comp 29 which they regard as their flagship, it seems they stick to low end components even on their flagship. It has components similar to what you find on entry level bikes from known brands like Merida/Giant/Scott.

Apparently sister company to Momsen.I have done some more searching on this new brand, Rapid Bikes, they are based in PE so they are local and therefore worth supporting. The top spec Pro Comp 29 sells for R7,695 from leading bike shops, they list two shops here in Stellenbosch so I am keen to go check it out. Based on the price range they are playing in and the spec levels of their bikes I would say it is a good deal. If I had to buy a new bike today then they would be on my short list.
Yeah, going down here : http://www.bikehub.co.za/forum/topic/157200-are-rapid-bikes-any-good/Apparently sister company to Momsen.
