What mountain bike for a beginner?

Bike mount bought and attached, its actually very sturdy considering it'll hold max 3 bikes.

So how far out was the seatpost?
Im praying my 2013 anthem doesnt snap there too, they were known for it happening when the post was too far out.

Seatpost was quite high, but not past the "maximum" mark. I have read on BikeHubSa of a few older Anthems that died with the same symptoms because the seatpost was up too high. I am just super happy that my bike was rebuilt under warranty with this beauty of a frame :

Giant has the best warranty by far, when you are the original owner then a frame cracking is not that bad.
 
True. I never had a warranty claim rejected on the three GT frames I killed, but the whole process took so long. Could be a Omnico VS Dragon thing, not sure.

Either way here is to another year and 9300km of #ridelife #ridegiant

i believe they going to replace your bike with the one behind that frame
 
Bought the bike BUT it was an a90 and not a60, ended up paying R1500 for it.

Arrived at home and took it for a ride , really impressed , not that I know much but for starter its ok I guess.

Another thing I only realised was that its a 16 small, didn't even know there where different sizes like that, anyway the wife says she'll ride it - one day.

In the meantime ill give it a go.

Excellent deal. Frame sizes are very important especially once you start doing longer rides. I always rode size Large but my last bike was XL and it rides much nicer.

My wife has a XS and while I can ride it for short distances I won't use it for long rides.
 
When you start biking, you don’t really know how much you’re going to be into this sport. As much as I love mountain biking, I’ve a range of friends who think I’m mental for wanting to go out on a winter weekend and spend my spare time slogging up and down muddy paths. Horses for courses and all that jazz.

When you’re starting out you want to buy a bike that’s good enough to let you have fun, but wont waste a whole lot of money if you end up deciding it’s not for you.

You can add sealant to tubes or tubeless wheels. If you have tubes I also would recommend a tyre liner. Best option is obviously tubeless with proper tubeless tyres.
 
If you go tubeless you can have it done for you at a much cheaper price. I use Rhino sealant on my tube/tubesless bikes.
 
Browsing local cash crusaders came across Richelieu Cardinal bike 29 for R2200, was wear and tear on it as tires where worn scratches on frame.

What's this bike worth new?
