My E6420 is currently overclocked to 2.8 and only runs at 35°C under load...

Overclock that baby, get nice OCZ Ram (lifetime warranty), and later why not RAID0 velociraptors...



Then get 2x 4870 like eitai2001 said...

Ja.... (Joking about the velociraptors though.... )

I just use my Coolermaster Gemin2 (not that great - I know, but it's fine..), with 1 120mm fan on it, and it does the job. I also applied Zalman paste on it...

I might do so with my Radeon as well, but it won't make such a diff though, probably MAX ~2-3° or so...

Not OC'ing my ram, they cheapass TwinMOS 667...

I have a Brand New VF1000 sitting in my room for my HD4850 however I forgot the get another heatsink for the right-side of the card which is covered by that weird looking HiS heatsink. Going to pick up a RHS88 (I think thats what its called) later this week and then i can start to properly OC the Radeon... at the moment I have edited the Fan speed in the profiles and have the card running at about 80 degrees under load in crysis.. 65 degrees when idle.

also you should overclock your q6600

i just installed and loaded the velociraptor on my machine and its faster than my old raptor raid, seems faster anyhow
it runs cooler and can barely hear it working

if you buy direct the velociraptor is about 3k so i would imagine it would sell for about 3.8k
