Another Drive...

I have almost the EXACT same spec (only I have a P5NE-SLI and 17" Lcd), my machine is fine. A fast HDD is an absolute joy...

Both.

RAM is dirt cheap and HDDs aren't too badly priced either. You'll see a nice increase in performance if you upgrade either of them but if have to choose, RAM first then HDD.

Just my opinion though..

Here are my specs, what should I get next? ;)

Q6600 @ 2.4Ghz * 4GB RAM * 74GB WD Raptor * Asus P5k MB * Vista 64 * NVidia Geforce 8800GT 512MB * Dell 3007WFPHC 30" Widescreen LCD Monitor @ 2560x1600 * G11 * MX Revolution

Get a mac :D

New range of Raptor drives would definately make a HUGE difference to your machine, if you can afford it.

+1

Velociraptor is awesome I recommend it and I will be getting one too.

get another 2GB of ram. Nevermind the velociraptor right now it'll cost you a fortune and the older 150 and 75GB raptors are nothing to shout about anynore

That's true the veloci should be around R3000 ($300 at newegg although realistically we will probably be paying around R5000:( ) but adding a extra 2GB won't cost you more than R1000.

Core2Duo E6420 @ 2.13GHz

Buy a few extra fans and start overclocking that thing, should go to 2.4GHz, maybe even 2.5 in winter.

velociraptor 300gb :)

omw its fast

also you should overclock your q6600

i just installed and loaded the velociraptor on my machine and its faster than my old raptor raid, seems faster anyhow :)
it runs cooler and can barely hear it working :)

velociraptor FTW

if you buy direct the velociraptor is about 3k so i would imagine it would sell for about 3.8k

You jacked my Thread!! :D

My E6420 is currently overclocked to 2.8 and only runs at 35°C under load...

Overclock that baby, get nice OCZ Ram (lifetime warranty), and later why not RAID0 velociraptors...

Then get 2x 4870 like eitai2001 said...

;)
