That's an irc channel not a game server

Nope that's the gaming server, not an IRC server. Unfortunately the old Gosu SC server closed down, so the Twilight/War3 guys are hosting for us.

To connect you need to add the server address to a "Starcraft gateway editor" - search Google

way more intense strat games out there now - SC's simplicity gets boring.
Know your build order - know the mineral layouts of the maps - and then follow the same process over and over again hoping to achieve victory with somebody following similar processes ;p

Now that you got some cards that will run something more recent, you should broaden your horizons

I wont deny that it is a legend for its time...

Unreal Tournament 2004. Uses a couple of megs an hour. I know that it is old and lame now but it runs beautifully on my PC and is fun so

Im a wow + gw + ex-eve player

wow takes about 5mb an hr in a dead zone ingame, and up to 50mb an hr when playing with 25 / 40 other players at once (in a raid/battleground)
(with 3g on a EU server, latt ranges from 600-1100, on adsl 300-500 4 me)

gw hardly uses any cap, its the background downloader and loading up all the 'zones' that chews cap (normally only 5-15mb per zone tho), my gw pings have been round 400
