Yesterday I found out I can upgrade from today...

I'm still on the old MTN Package but I think I'll be going Anytime 350 or 500... The problem is there is really a lot of flippen good phones to choose from.

I currently have a modded HTC Tytn 2, and I dont know if I want to go touch screen again, maybe just keep it simple, like maybe get the Nokia N79, but then I look around at the awesome touch screen phones like the HTC Hero, SE Satio, N97, etc. etc. and Im afraid I'll miss out on the awesome'ness ;)

But sometimes I just get so tired of complexity of those types of phone and just want a freaking keypad ;)

Any advice?

Symbian touch is improving all the time and is taking over rival touch platforms. You can't go wrong with the N97

I beg to differ. Especially where you claim it is taking over rival touch platforms.

Nokia were the last to come to the party with Touch Screens, and it shows from on the N97, 5800, etc. Sure they've managed to improve some of the problems with firmware updates, but they are still far from the competition. I'm not saying its that bad either...

I'm holding out for Samsung Omnia II, or HTC HD2, or another decent HTC phone. Otherwise I might settle for the Nokia X6.

The Hero looks good, but I don't know if Android is mature enough yet :/
 
Get any phone YOU want. You'll be using it for the next 2 years.
 
Well thats the problem, I'm a Libra and cant make up my mind... lols
 
If I was sure that the Hero will be upgraded to Android 2.1 I would probably get it :/ Also does TomTom work on Android?

Do you want a smart phone that's customizable? Or a feature phone? Omnia definitely gone!
 
All Im worried about is lag? The biggest problem I had with my Tytn2, specially after modding it with Windows Mobile 6.5 is the lag and crashes you started to experience after long uptime...

Also the reason why I included the N79 is because at first I just wanted a normal phone and IM pretty keen on the FM Transmitter, but it's a pretty old phone, thats why I included the N86 but I am really stumped because apparently that has a few bugs which is kind of why I dont like Symbian phones...

Also one of the most important things the phone should have is GPS, I would love TomTom support or if not that atleast Garmin XT...

Also the Samsung S8300 looks pretty impressive, because of the touch screen/keypad combo, but then again it's not really a smartphone just a good "fake" one...
 
If I was you I would go for Hero if I want a customizable + reliable smart phone, and if I want a feature phone that's fast I'd go for the Jet. The S8300 is pretty slow as far as I know and it comes out with a very small battery. Symbian ussually have some kind of hick up here and there.
 
I have an N95 8Gb.

Natural upgrade would have been to N97, but i used that phone for a little i and dont like it at all.

I am leaning very much towards the hero. However I might wait for the next HTC android phone, just want to see better hardware.

Have you not considered a blackberry? That would be my other choice.

But from your list, Hero would be my pick.
